Honestly I didn't even think the "boring" version sounded bad. I thought it sounded pretty good then you enhanced it even further. Just goes to show that we don't know what we don't know I guess.

Also goes to show that you need a good song, to have a good song. Production "tips and tricks" don't make a song, although they're good

"boring production" austin bestie shut up are u joking 😭😭😭 the boring one was better than a lot of songs already out there. it's so good but i'm always here to add a lil extra also i'm close to finishing up a track at the moment and this is what i need to fill it out a little bit so timing is perfect as always, also copped the new Dawn Sample and preset pack so will be using that where possible !!

Awesome Austin. Super rad. Can you explain your perspective on layering with regards to avoiding masking/frequency build up etc? It seems it's something that can become a big mess quite easily but you do it with ease. Is your general approach to mainly keep a lot of things lower in the mix and they kind of work themselves out that way?

I usually polish with rev rev, subtle stuttering and other cool effects. That takes a lot of time and effort, but it really takes the not so shiny production to a real glossy shine. My goal is to surpass Blank Space in every sense... :)

We actually do that already. It’s hard to get the vocals consistent because a lot of times these songs are fully mixed and mastered, but I’m soloing elements throughout the video. What are you listening on though? Just rewatched a few parts and it doesn’t sound abrasive to me from talking parts to audio parts.

@@MakePopMusic Hey man, first of all thanks for taking my comment seriously and responding so quickly. I was listening on my Yamaha HS7s. For me especially the chorus was too loud compared to your voice, e.g. at 15:08. When I'm listening on smaller speakers there is still the difference, but not as much. Again: Thank you!

Yo Austin, your Videos and Skills are great! Thanks for all the work you put in. The Problem is, that almost every song sounds the same. They always have the same vibe and the chords and progressions always move similar. I wonder why don't you go a different direction and try something new. I mean you got the skill.

I produce a lottttt of songs that aren’t on these videos. But even in these, listen to this song, the song we made for the Olivia Rodrigo track, the song we made for the Pop Punk Track, the song for the most recent Pop Production track, etc. all different styles, tempos, keys, and chords 😂
