Great review Myron! I was a lifeguard at Thomas Stone HS pool during the summer of 1988. We used to go to Nick's of Clinton for their $5 subs! I stop there every time on my way through southern Maryland!

Great review Myron! At first I kept passing it up because I would see it priced at no less than $120. When I went to Totalwine, they had a few sitting on the shelf going for $72. So far I like it and shall see how it opens up in a few wks. Cheers!

i agree that bottle shape on the cellar and heart release is killer with that slant at the bottom. i have 2 bottles of that creamy caramel VA abc pick put away, its definitely a great bottle. i always buy the makers picks im a big makers fan

I got a MM Chocolate Swan Release for only 53.99 and it was phenomenal especially at 117 proof. One of the best MM products I’ve had. Hard to justify paying 70$ + for the heart release but if I find it for MSRP I’ll definitely grab one after this review

Heart Release is outstanding bottle. Probably the best makers on the market. everyone I've provided a sample bought 2 bottles. I'm still looking for a couple for the bunker. but $110 is too much, I agree. should be $75-$80. but bourbon price creep is real. lol

I was taking my daughter to college in Kentucky and found it at Costco for $60. Well worth that price. I'm in the NY area and I've seen it between $90-$100 here. I don't think I would have paid that. It's a good bottle but there are so many Maker's picks in the local stores. Some I've had a lot better than this release and they for $70.

I picked up two bottles of Heart at two different locations. Both were marked-up to $99. I like it just fine, but like you, I grab MM Private Selections whenever I can. They're just as good, IMHO.

I got mine for msrp and I don’t regret that. I like that it’s different than the other wood finishing series and shelvers. Bourbon pricing will always confuse. Yes there are picks you can always get for cheaper than most bottles. I sampled RR 15 and I thought it was too oaky and I wouldn’t pay $250 for it, but everyone is calling it Bourbon of the year 🤷🏾‍♂️

I totally agree with you on the Maker's Mark 101 go back to the 101 Gold Label it made it look so much more classier the new label is awful but I do like the new label for the Maker's Mark 46🟥👍🏻🥃

I still like it, just Don feel like it's worthy of being a special release with a special release price. I was at the same store that I bought it from today. They had another one out for $150. I just don’t see the hype on this bottle. Lots of caramel but the finish is flat and it has a lot of ethanol going on even after being open a couple of weeks. Hopefully it gets better over time but I wouldn’t buy it again (I paid $75)

It just didn't wow me on the first sip. I will revisit it, and probably pick up the 2nd release. I will make my decision on buying 3-5 based off that. 🥃
