Balloon Garland in the SUN challenge (Who Wins)

Love these types of videos! I used Betallic earlier this month in direct sunlight on a 93° day in NJ. Took the garland outdoors at 1pm and by 6pm the garland still looked great with its original shape and barely any balloons missing. The balloons only oxidized which is expected. The colors were metallic green, metallic blue, and fashion blue for a football theme party. I was surprised and glad I slightly under inflated

Thank you, I never even tried betallatex balloons in the sun. So I was very surprised and was wondering if anybody had similar experiences. And yes underinflating helps a lot with the heat expansion, Thanks for commenting!

In Texas, Tuftex is the best outdoor sunlight. You need to under inflate the balloons to expand in heat to prevent from popping.

Hi, thanks so much for watching and commenting. And yes the best thing to do for any balloon that will be in the sun is to under inflate as this will help with the expansion as you stated. But for this video I just blew them up all the same because I just wanted to see which would pop the fastest with all things even and plus it was just hot outside and was in a hurry. Plus I thought they would all pop with in 2 or 3 hours because it was 105 degrees and it was so hot outside. And I actually did think tuftext would be the winner because I have used them in the sun and never had a problem. Maybe it was just a bad batch? That is why I said I would have to do it again because I still think they will do better. I do think the surprising thing for me was how good betallatex did, as I did not expect that. But for sure I will have to do the test again, Thanks for watching!

I'm not surprised I live in Tahiti with Hot & Humid weather and Betallatex Sempretex is best here so far. I'm going to try Decomex cause I noticed it lasts pretty good with twisted sculptured shaped designs too. The best to you as balloons are a challenge indeed, I'm retired so I just do for friends & family. Aloha/Hina

Thank you for all your detailed videos! Tip for those who do not want to use grommets for their covers, I had a lot of elastic in hand so I ran the elastic inside the little pocket I sewn around the fabric (was going to use grommets initially) and then just pulled the elastic really tight, secured it with a couple of knots and it worked. Think of it as a fitted sheet with adjustable elastic! Did I make sense? Lol 😂

A Much needed Video! I've always wanted to know this. I'm shocked that Tuftex failed to perform as they are thicker balloons and were often used at Car dealer ships back in the day! I've made it a point to purchase Tuftex recently for outdoor purposes but maybe I'll rethink that now haha. I switched to Tuftex for outdoors because Qualatex was getting thinner and thinner with thin spots. I do Love the Feel of Betallatex tho and they're smooth like butter. After this video I'll be switching. I felt bad for you, your wife and your sis on those HOT Days in TEXAS! I totally understand. All that work gone! You nailed it tho! Thanks for keeping it Real. Metallic colors, Dark colors do tend to pop more outdoors AND metallic confetti balloons will heat up and pop like fireworks lol. Thanks for the informative Video!

They're balloons are a lot thicker compared to others and I have used them in the sun as well with no problems. I was surprised but I think I am going to have to try it again because I think they can do better lol. Thank you!

Excellent video and information. So understand heat and humidity living in FL. Do have you customers sign an event contract with the usual info, clauses, what you guarantee and not?

We had a section located in the invoice where they pay the deposit to book us. Not sure how much that would help us in court as I am not a Lawyer. But I always made sure we were on the same page. And the biggest thing was I avoided difficult and demanding customers. That is what saved us a lot of headaches. Most of our customers were great and that what makes it fun and I think brings out the best!

I have a party at home and wonder if it’s even worth having balloons outside or if I should keep it all inside and invite guests in to take their pictures. How do those Mylar square balloon walls do? How early would you set up an outdoor balloon arch or inflate the balloons?

Thanks for the video. I do balloons just for myself and my family and I made a balloon arch for 4th this year next to the pool and in an hour all my red and blues popped. I was annoyed with all the work I did for us to have a nice backdrop and it all ended up looking sad 😂. I had my daughters 16th birthday last July ( outside) and made a chiara balloon set up with peachy colors and they didn’t pop. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Both my garlands were purchased off of Amazon. Im guessing the darker colors just couldn’t stand the heat. Lesson learned.

Im sorry that happened. But I have heard that darker balloons do tend to pop faster in the heat. I may have to try some dark vs light colors next time. Thanks for watching!

Yes darker balloons pop easier in direct sun vs light colored balloons. So ideally choose light, pastel colors if you can when using balloons outdoors.

Do the same test but use 1 of each most used color in your cluster. And do it single and do a double stuffed test

Hi, I can not give you a for sure answer. I have used hi-shine in the heat and have had some balloons pop. But not sure if it was related to that. That is something I may have to test out soon. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hi, sorry when I did this test Kalisan was barely popping up in the U.S at balloon locations. But I did not get to try them, so I am not sure how they would do. I have seen a lot of people use that brand, not sure if it's the quality or the lower pricing. I may have to look into them soon. Thanks

Planning a balloon garland in Las Vegas for a summer event. It will be around 118 most likely so I’m a bit concerned…

I know, I would get so sick just looking at the weather when we had outdoor events. It can be stressful. Just some tips is make sure the clients understands you can not control the weather and hot outdoor events can not be guaranteed.Try to find a shaded section for the installation, which you may have to convince your client it gives you the best chance for the balloons to last. Use quality balloons and I don't really recommend balloon shine. I have not read that it causes balloons to pop in the heat, but it has happened a couple of times to us when we did use shine. Again not sure if this was good or bad, but made me suspicious of it on hot days. Good luck and wish you the best! You can do it!!!

@@MakerDecor thanks :) I’m just doing it for me… no client but our event is at 7pm and the yard is shaded by about 6 or 7 ish so hoping it can withstand a few hrs and then be shaded. We shall see.

@@SWilliams-01 Awesome, I think you should be fine. I have done 12pm and 1pm outdoor sunny events and those are always scary. But yours is toward the evening, you should have no problem. Good luck with your event!
