Canvas would be a great option. Maybe just a pair of old carhart pants, plenty of usable fabric there. I would love to see the finished project.

Excellent project! I can see Boy Scouts making and using this for hikes in areas where they are allowed to pick up items. They could also start out on a hike with items in the bag, then close up the bag when empty.

I just make things out of what I have. I’m gonna make something similar out of pleather, cotton and normal buttons. I might have to add a loop to put the button through but oh well! It will still work.

Great video man.n LOTS of little tips are very helpful. I had no idea that you could clip those cap rivets off and use them like that. It's awesome that you winged it but still paid meticulous attention to detail.

I've found that with thin stretchy leather a rotary cutter causes the least distortion

Thank you, I am using a Tandy leather pen and I can erase it with a standard pencil erasure. The eraser can discolor the leather so it is best to limit the mistakes as much as possible. But during use over time the marks will wear off on their own.

Figure out what you want to make first. Get the right leather and only the basic tools you need. Add tools as you add experience. Before you know it you will be able to make anything you want. KZbin is a good resource.

@@ScottOwens28 there are some links to what we use from Amazon on the newest video. We just shop around and get what we need wherever we find it. As we post projects we will also post links to some of the harder to find stuff that we use. We don't have a single source for anything.

@@crypto_pinto2660 deiselpunk.ro has some fun and easy patterns at a great price. He asks that if you sell more than ten that you buy the pattern again on the honor system. The real advantage to using his patterns is learning how to make your own. He also has a video for each pattern with detailed assembly instructions. All around that is the best that we have found.
