If you were ever to dive deep into Maynard James Keenan's mind, he wrote the song "Judith" by A Perfect Circle in reference to his mother's suffering and her unwavering religious faith despite her hardships. Judith Marie Keenan, suffered a brain aneurysm in 1976 when Maynard was 11 years old. The aneurysm left her paralyzed for the rest of her life. She passed away in 2003 after living with the long-term effects of the aneurysm for over 25 years.
@BearInThaWoodsАй бұрын
The two songs "Judith" and "10,000 Days" were both about her. in "Judith" Maynard expressed his frustration with God allowing her to be afflicted with this lifelong pain. Then in "10,000 Days" he comes to terms with her faith and her death.

"Can't catch the beat" Tool are the masters of time signature changes and polyrhythms. Usually only seasoned musicians can truly keep up, and even then sometimes not, lol. Edit: I mean keeping up on first listen. It gets easier the more you listen and learn to expect the unexpected.

You do do anything you wanna do. You also have a KZbin channel and pretty much say whatever you wanna say. Go get mad at people because they don’t regularly line themselves with your believes. That’s where the problem is. You always come out or come across as if you have to attack those that are objective. Instead of having a real conversation and I know you can’t do it with some of these people. They’re just on here to rant and rave. But you guys are smart. The landscape changing and people don’t want to hear about you labeling people as marxist just because you have a different ideology. You constantly attack and label people and you do it in your music all the time. People come at you because you come at them make no mistake about that. You are the social media you are the one with the microphone and you are the one that can spread your voice across all those people at once. The only natural reaction would be that all those people would have different reactions and you will hear about them. That’s the cycle That’s how it goes Maybe it’s time to stop being so aggressive about how you’re labeling people and labeling certain peoples beliefs or them as a person themselves and you may get less abrasive reactions

How to listen to Tool, in my opinion of course...Let go of every need/want to 'catch the rhythm', just let the bass and drums root you down while the guitar and vocals flows through and around you. Like the bass and drums are the mountain and the winds and clouds that pass by are the vocals and guitar. Stay firmly rooted in the bass and enjoy!
