TOOL always writes a few songs for commercial play on every album not Undertow. idk if I consider Undertow grunge. It's hard rock. TOOL said, when they were trying to 'make it', they chose their heaviest songs for 'Undertow', because that was the sound back then.

The second you said “I’ve had Reese’s pieces…” I KNEW EXACTLY where you were going. Fantastic analogy.

Watching this reminded me of the first time hearing this song. I think anyone who loves Tool had this exact reaction too.

I really enjoyed your reaction to this. Glad you got back to Tool. I like counting their time signatures. This one is almost entirely in 5/4, or 10/8 in some places. But it boils down to 5 head bobs per measure instead of the usual 4. Once you know that it doesn't feel weird anymore.

Great reaction fellas! Can't go wrong with Tool! You guys should check out Tool's cover of "You Lied" by Peach. Justin was the bassist in the band Peach if you guys didn't know. And its live too!

You guys are entertaining as sh*t! I really enjoy that you pause for commentary but also let the music play over top while you comment underneath. The mix is set so well that we can hear both clearly. Add to that, your musical observations are quite astute. Subscribed.

For this song to be as old as it is and STILL hit this hard.. is bananas!

I subscribed when you reacted to Pneuma. Still my favorite reaction on youtube to this day. This did not disappoint either. So much Tool left to discover. I hope you pick either Right in Two, or Jambi next. Y'all kick ass!

Holy shit. I waited years for you guys to listen to this one. THis is the song that really got me into TOOL. That 5/4 time on the intro/verse is just too nasty. 🤯

Imo 10,000 days as a whole is underrated. For me at least it’s my second favorite tool album. This song is fantastic, and the lyrics on this album is top notch.

Argued with my kids one night at dinner about this, I’m a Lateralus guy, but they both love 10000 Days, after they started listing tracks, I was like, they may have a point

@@ericwoods3849 lateralus is just always going to be a classic and it has a special place in my heart (and my favorite overall) but wings for Marie and 10,000 days reaches me like no other song reaches me, and will always have a place in my heart. For that alone it’s my second favorite, but add vicarious, the pot, hooker with a penis, Jambi, I mean come on it’s a classic album.

Glad that you guys enjoyed this song so much. One of my favorites of all time from Tool I always understood this song as a criticism to people that look at life vicariously and that think that others should look at things the same way as them. Basically as an example that we should all be better.
