Pacquiao overall is a modern athletic marvel. He's very respectful, calm, he trains rigorously, is a fluid boxer, courteous in public & doesn't start unnecessary drama. He really does set the bar as a genuine person and a passionate boxer.

I don't really think you can hate floyd's love of the money. He's a boxer. And boxers are one of the many types of athletes that are prone to becoming broke after they retire. I guess the argument would be that Floyd doesn't deserve the hype he's getting when other boxers are more passionate about the sport than he is.

People need to rewatch the fights , i got Pac winning them all except the last one obviously , which Pac was winning before the perfect execution happened. @Marc Laureta He was getting $30 million, in 2012. He backed out of the negotiations over a 10 day difference in drug testing. They had already negotiated on the money, the gloves, and he felt that Mayweather asking for random drug testing up to 14 days before the fight, was too much to ask. Sorry, but if I'm clean, and you want drug testing, Let's have it. Especially since they were both in their prime. Why leave the money that you asked for, on the table, if you're clean? So either A) You're not clean, and worried about coming back dirty, or B) You didn't really want to fight Mayweather, and the drug testing was just an excuse.

@@boymacarioquebec8606 because he wanted to save face. You Manny fans don't like facts, too much. You like to forget things like, Mayweather would have had to take the same drug tests. So, if either fighter were dirty, they would have gotten busted. Also, the drug tests were random, up to two weeks before the fight. Which means that Manny wouldn't have had to take any more drug tests, within two weeks of the fight. So what's the problem? Both fighters would have been tested. Manny got most of his demands met.

We all know Floyd could've knocked an old rundown Oscar out but he spared him out of respect. Manny fought a lighter, easier to knock out hatton at a weight drained (dehydrated) catch weight aka disadvantage. Floyd is a defensive counter puncher, and a outpointsman. Pacqio is a quick foot, fast handed, slick-brawler. When Floyd fought Cotto, Floyd was sick with a cold and runny congested nose and an injury sustained in training as report was given. Floyd almost knocked out Cotto in RD # 12, but chose not to out of respect just like he did Oscar and Mosely. It took Pacqio a 12 RD battle to sit Cotto down. *AT A CATCHWEIGHT (DEHYDRATED).* And *OFF A LOSS (LOW TO NO MORALE/CONFIDENCE).* How come you didn't mention pacman fighting at catch weight????? When Pac fought ALL those fights he won better than Floyd, Pac was obviously on drugs and all his opponents were sick with a cold. Floyd could have won every fight he ever had in the first round but he was too busy trying to give the other guy some respect. Floyd really can read, he reads all the time. I had floyd winning on a very thing margin if it were point based. I counted all shots for all rounds. If we add the dominance and deduct point for holding and refusing to engage. Manny won.

I actually watched the fight counting only for holding because after it happened a ton of people said what you did. I don't have the numbers anymore but it went something like 5ish holds per round total. That number is not particularly high at all by the way. 2 or so each round were incidental (southpaw vs ortho fighter just tie up a lot on accident). 2-3 a round were initiated by Mayweather but in almost every case he did not hold long enough to consider it excessive holding per incident. So amount of holding in the fight was average or less than average. The holding was not for particularly long periods and about half were the result of them getting tangled up. The holding argument does not hold up at all in this fight. Count it, be honest with which holds were actually holds and which were incidental. Then compare to ANY other fight. It was not excessive. There were times where pacman held too but to be fair it was less. The running thing... Well some people see it as running and some don't. The thing is there is no such thing as "running" in the rules of boxing. The ref can't take a point for it since in pro boxing it's known as footwork not running. The ref can stop the fight if he sees the other guy is totally beat and not engaging because he is afraid to engage but that was not the case here. What happened here is manny is an aggressive fighter and mayweather is a counterpuncher. It was expected by EVERYONE going in that mayweather would stick and move and pacquiao would attack. So the ref had no reason to believe mayweather was "running" for his life. No point deductions should occur in this fight. It was not intentionally dirty and no rules were broken or excessively abused.

Fact, floyd refused to engage, I don't know why people are so sheep like and let the commenters dictate the fight. He essentially did just enough not to get called out on it. it was like a game of Tag, your it. It's not illegal. But The holding his head and shoving it down multiple times is. I watched the fight in Panama airport overnight. The commenters were retired boxers, and they, as well I thought Pacman won!! With this recent PAC victory over Algieri, it just proved to the mayweather critics if they were to fight how much could Floyd run before getting caught by PAC. PAC is the true p4p king In boxing. This was a statement to mayweather. Now lets see what excuses mayweather will make. Algieri very similar to mayweather in running. PAC still dropped him 6 times in that fight. First off. Manny is much smaller than Floyd. He is a natural 130-135 pound fighter that started at flyweight. Second, Manny had a torn shoulder (confirmed by doctors) and Floyd got an illegal IV. Third, Manny's style relies on power/athleticism, which declines rapidly after around age 30-32. Floyd's style relies on hugging, running, and his long ass reach. Defensive fighters age much better... that is common knowledge. Fourth, Manny won the fight. He applied pressure, he caught Floyd multiple times, had him on the ropes multiple times and he was the aggressor for 90% of the fight. Fifth, replay shows Manny landed more punches AND that CompuBox was counting punches Floyd missed.

Lmao first of all to even bring up basketball stats in a boxing debate is idiotic because if we're going by your logic then bill russell is the G.O.A.T . Second you brought up literally NOTHING about skills . how is manny supposed to beat floyd , when Marquez is a slower smaller version of floyd and you've seen those outcomes. Firstly, so what if Pacquiao was champion in more divisions. Had Mayweather started from below the Super Featherweight, he would have perhaps dominated those divisions too. Secondly, the fighter of the year awards are subjective and don't even make sense considering the betting odds are in Mayweather's favour. Floyd beat Corrales, Castillo, Corley, Judah, Gatti, Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton and Marquez all in one decade. Who did Pac beat worth of any note? De La Hoya, Hatton, Morales (after losing once before) and Barrera. The first list is far more impressive. Furthermore, so what if Pacquiao beat some opponents faster? De La Hoya was at a weight he hadn't been in 7 years against Pac while Mayweather fought him at his walking around weight. Hatton was never the same fighter after his first loss. Mosley was older. Not to mention Pac had 8oz gloves while Mayweather used 10oz gloves which make it harder to KO someone. The only one that you can justify is Miguel Cotto, but again, so what? George Foreman beat the heck out of Joe Frazier by the sixth round on both occasions while Ali lost to him, then beat him on points and then was lucky to have the ref stop it in the third clash in the later rounds. Did that make Foreman better than Ali? Nope. He actually lost to Ali, in fact, he was knocked out by Ali. Styles make fights. Mayweather has a different style to Pac, one which isn't focused on KOs. That doesn't make Pac better. Moving on to Marquez, Pac dropped him twice in the first fight and it was still a draw. He then arguably beat him twice followed by a loss. After 3 fights, couldn't Pac figure out Marquez like you said Marquez could? Let's also compare their opponents of this decade: Mayweather 2010: Mosley (higher than both the others on the rankings that yr and clearly more successful) Pac 2010: Clottey and Margarito M 2011: Ortiz (WBC champ) P 2011: Mosley Marquez (higher up) M 2012: Cotto (WBA champ,) P 2012: Bradley and Marquez M 2013: Guerrero and Alvarez (higher on the rankings, Canelo held a belt) P 2013: Rios M 2014: Maidana x2 (was a champion) P 2014: Bradley and Algieri Aside from 2011, Mayweather has faced better opponents.

+Chard Floyd is TBE! at 36 he took on the "Future of Boxing" who was a young, hungry and hard hitting Mexican with over 20 pounds advantage over him and he treated him like garbage. Mean while pacroid is fighting a fat, slow and cherry picked Rios and Algieri. He beat the best of his era, Undefeated and destroyed every record in the game and crated his own records which is gonna be fucking hard to brake. He beat the most world champions in boxing history and generated over 1.1 billion dollars just from PPV alone. Floyd is TBE & by far the best of this era. Manny Pacquiao cannot make the same claim. Oscar De La Hoya can't make the same claim. No one other than Mayweather in his era could make that claim. Don't ever put that little steroid abusing bum in the same sentence as Mayweather. And at least Canelo took his L like a man unlike some people....

Let's review SB Nation's Thomas Hauser's piece in exact words and the major points it makes about how Floyd Jr. defines some sweet science I mean literally. 💩 They are as follows: 1. Floyd Mayweather illegally used an 750ml of IV hours after his weigh in for the fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 1st. The contracted collection agent for the USADA went to Mayweather's house in Las Vegas to conduct a random unannounced drug test and found evidence of an IV being administered to Mayweather. 2. IVs are often used by athletes for rehydration purposes or to flush unwanted substances in their bloodstream. 3. The USADA told the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) , which had jurisdiction over the fight, claims the USADA told them the IV was administered for rehydration purposes. 4. There were two mixes in Mayweather's IV, one containing saline and a multivitamin, the other saline and vitamin C. The ingredients were not illegal, but IV administration is, as per the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). Floyd Mayweather was inexplicably granted retroactive immunity for this by the USADA. 5. The USADA has extremely secretive testing practices. Writes Hauser:"The organization has resisted filing its boxer drug-testing contracts with governing state athletic commissions. On several occasions, New York and Nevada have forced the issue. Compliance has often been slow in coming.When asked to identify the boxing matches for which a USADA drug-testing contract was filed with either the New York or Nevada State Athletic Commissions, Travis Tygart declined through a spokesperson (USADA senior communications manager Annie Skinner) to answer the question." 6. There is another major drug testing agency in America, the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA). VADA uses more sophisticated testing techniques than USADA. According to Hauser: "Unlike USADA, VADA utilizes carbon isotope ratio (CIR) testing on every urine sample it collects from a boxer. USADA often declines to administer CIR testing on grounds that it’s unnecessary and too expensive. Of course, the less expensive that tests are to administer, the better it is for USADA’s bottom line." 7. Floyd Mayweather is promoted by Al Haymon, and Al Haymon has a history of paying substantially to use USADA's services. For perspective, VADA received $16,000 for the April 18, 2015, 140lb fight between Ruslan Provodnikov and Lucas Matthysse, whereas the USADA was given $150,000 as an upfront fee for the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. 8. Disturbingly, boxer Erik Morales tested positive for Clenbuterol, a banned substance before fighting Danny Garcia back in 2012. There are two samples used in drug tests, A and B. If an athlete tests positive on the A sample they have a right to ask for the B sample in case of a false positive. Morales tested positive in both the A and B samples on at least two separate test, meaning he tested positive for clenbuterol four times. The USADA did not adequately notify the New York State Athletic Commission of these tests, and the fight proceeded. 9. According to Morales, a USADA official suggested that the tests may have come as a result of him eating contaminated meat. There was no evidence presented for this scenario. 10. Floyd Mayweather's relationship with the USADA is extremely troubling. The USADA claims to test athletes all year round, but has not done so with Mayweather, instead testing him after his fights are announced. In the case of Andre Berto, this was only 39 days before the fight. 11. According to experts the benefits of drug use peak after the athlete has stopped using with certain substances carrying benefit for several months. Testing Mayweather within those 39 days was pointless given any banned substance would not be present in his bloodstream. Why did Mayweather announce his fight with Berto so late? 12. When negotiating the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight, the USADA presented Manny Pacquiao with a contract stating that they could grant retroactive therapeutic use exemption to the fighters should they test positive for a banned substance. 13. Pacquiao's camp was outraged and refused to sign the contract, believing Mayweather could game the system. 14. A new agreement was reached, but the protocol was not followed when it was discovered Mayweather illegally overdosed a 750ml IV just 6 hours before the fight, and the Nevada Athletic Commission wasn't notified for 20 days after the fight. Mayweather was also inexplicably granted a retroactive therapeutic use exemption by the USADA. 15. There have been several instances when more sophisticated testing not used by the USADA were appropriate for Floyd Mayweather. On at least two occasions, Mayweather's testosterone to epitestosterone levels have been surprisingly low, a red flag that should initiate further testing. So wait, he gives Pacman credit for jumping up to 147 to fight Oscar, but doesn't give Floyd credit for jumping up to 154 to fight Oscar? Then he gives Manny credit for fighting Hatton at his better weight of 140, but doesn't give Floyd credit for fighting Oscar at his better weight of 154, or for fighting Cotto at his better weight of 154. And never does he bring up the fact that Mayweather beat Hatton when Hatton was undefeated, and Manny was getting sloppy seconds on Hatton, De La Hoya and Mosley? Head per head, its probably even during Manny' prime year. Manny started fighting from the Minimum weight, barely made it at 105 lbs. Mayweather was already big and he is a natural welterweight fighting boxers who are of his size. On the other hand, Manny Paquiao beat up legitimate welterweight and superwelterweight fighters. He is not supposed to do that. Can you imagine Floyd going up in the middle weight then to the heavyweight? He will be slaughtered in there. He has skills but the bigger guys are too strong and powerful for him. Nobody came close to what Manny Pacquiao had achieved in multiple divisions.

I can't understand why people still can't see that floyd Mayweather is a fighter that avoids risks!, he fought two eliminators in order to fight Gatti instead of Tszyu, I mean who does that? He avoided Acelino Freitas and Casamayor when they were undefeated, avoided Margarito when he was a beast at 147 pounds. He avoided Cotto when Cotto was in his prime then decided to fight when he was damaged goods. The second time around when he negotiated with Pacquiao and Pacquiao said yes to all the demands of floyd, drug testing, ring size, gloves, dates etc . . He decided to take a year off boxing and Pacquiao was a Beast at that stage, if the fight ever happens he'll decide to fight Pacquiao when he's even more damaged, he's already not what he used to be. Styles like Pacquiao's decline quicker than Floyd's style.

Money is a legend. He studied boxing and boxing runs in his veins. He knows every facet of it and deserves a place in its history. Manny, on the other hand, is all heart. He never walked away from a fight and he always fought for his fans as a champion. He wasn't as well versed as Mayweather in the politics of the sport but he gave it everything he had on every fight he had. So the critics and the fans can argue all they want. Pacquiao is still the champion of the era.

Daniels Random Ass Channel Pacquiao went to extremes to even "cheat" his weight in fights in a sense that he was too light, so he'd put rocks in his pockets since in the weigh ins, no one would bother check the rocks. When i say "cheat" I mean in a sense to qualify for the fights because he really needed the money for the sake of survival. Still clean IMO since how do you gain weight when you're in a state in which you have a hard time even earning money to eat? From my POV, thats what I call a determined athlete, hell bent on surviving the slums of the Philippines. Look at what his determination at all.

MakeSenseBoxing You forget to mention the level of competition Pacquiao went up against in the Flyweight and Featherweight division. In my opinion, it was the best Featherweight line up in the history of the sport. Pacquiao TKO'ed a slick boxer in Ledwaba with only two weeks notice. He went on to beat Barrera, Morales, and Marquez. He beat hall of famers after hall of famers all the way up to the Welterweight division.

There's so many errors in this video...the most glaring one is when he compares Pacquiao and Floyd's victories over Oscar in favor of Pacquiao. He blatantly omits a couple of facts.....1) Floyd moved up in weight to face Oscar at his comfortable weight class. 2) Inversely, Oscar stripped his weight down to fight Pacquiao at his convenient weight class. Floyd fought Oscar at his optimal weight range, Pacquiao didn't (can't spin that). Floyd fought a better version of Oscar whereas Pacquiao fought him on the downhill of his career. Pacquiao was the beneficiary of Floyd's scraps (Hatton included). Pacquiao arguably having more exciting endings on both fights doesn't add anything to your argument that Pacquiao is better than Floyd (because styles makes fights). Also, the bigger erroneous theme this Pacquiao fan seems to convey is that Manny is simply greater than Floyd because of the higher number of trophies he's racked up? Throughout this video, not once have you ever gave your thoughts on how this fight would play out...instead you make an ignorant statement that Pacquiao is simply better because's racked up more toys? Ask yourself this....what's a better accomplishment: Beating a bunch of locals to conveniently win titles or challenging/beating the current champions at each given weight class? Just to top it all. Amateur boxing bouts are short in duration and fighters wear head protection, so this type of competition prizes point-scoring blows (based on number of clean punches landed) rather than physical power.(Oh, I see, in pro boxing Mayweather wins based on how many times he hugs his opponent). Bouts comprise three rounds of three minutes. How could Mayweather lose to that, a very short fights with head gears. And he keep on saying that he's undefeated. C'mon men no matter how you say it, when, how, or why you lose, a loss is a loss, you can't change it.
