Creation of a makeshift shelter in a riverbank in the middle of nature all by yourself. An old fox gallery transforms into a shelter with the means at hand. The space in the shelter is large enough to sleep and eat. A shelter well protected from the cold but also from rain and animals. The I plan to continue to make a door and if possible a fireplace inside the shelter or find a solution to make the fire inside the shelter but all that in a next episode. If you really want to survive you have to know how to fend for yourself and be able to put up a shelter in all conditions. I tell you very soon with new adventures.

First of all, if I have a shovel with me, it's because I love digging, I always have a small shovel with me and sometimes a bigger shovel. A shovel is really essential, it is useful for many things and therefore for digging and finding gold

This shelter is cool as hell! When I was a little girl growing up in the 70's and 80's I used to fantasize about a life like this. I would find little areas in our woods to make cool little shelters, then collected nuts and berries for food.

Awesome bush camp! Makes me jealous. I can't wait for spring and the warm weather, I have been planning a 5 day solo bush craft kayak trip all winter! I have the benefit of living right on a long lake. So I won't actually be more than a days paddle from home. But it'll still be awesome. Spending nearly a week fishing and foraging alone in a hand crafted shelter, is going to be an amazing experience.

I'm really into this. I want to camp like this so bad. Unfortunately (but also fortunately because I have an income) I've been working a lot during this pandemic and haven't been able to take time off but if I could...oh man I'd be living in a hole in the woods for a week or two. A girl can dream.

I enjoyed the video. I was raised in Alaska, guided hunters in the Bitter root, and spent countless hours alone in the wilderness. Tip, ALWAYS get a fire going BEFORE anything else. Weather can change, and in the event of an injury its a life saver. Witha busted wing it's nice to have a fire going and wood ready

You reminded me of the time me and my Brother were digging into a bank as kids. It was fun and we had planned to use it for a long time. As we dug into the opening making it big enough for the 2 of us, it was hot outside and the cave was cool in it. After a while we went home to get a drink of water and when we returned to our new cave It had collapsed and fallen where me and my Brother were playing. But for the mercy of the Lord we both would have been dead. Sand is not a stable enough to put your life in the path of death. Never do what this person has done. It's not worth your life or a friend life.

Sand that is soft enough that you can shovel it like that, would collapse. Sandstone is hard enough that you can't shovel it without pre-loosening,even then you would have chunks instead of clean pure sand. your hole looked like it may have been pre-dog before you got there. cool shelter!

Nice! I used to dig fox holes in the side of hills when I was young. They're a lot of fun! By the looks of the roots coming out of the bank you dug, it should hold up nicely. The roots add a lot of strength to loose soil. You could always line the inside with cribbing just in case?
