It looked better!! I’d love to see side by side with huda like you mentioned. I’m STILL finishing my too faced peach perfect powder & when I run out I was gonna try huda or givenchy but NO chance now. I’ll never ever comprehend why a brand would take a cult face product, especially that one who had a massive revival & reformulate it right then, make it wayyyyy worse. It genuinely looks like a highlight!

I always prefer a puff for setting my eyes and face. I dip it, tap on the back of my hand (so I don’t lose a ton of powder from my next step), flick the back of the puff and get the excess off, and then do a little tap tap tap on my hand (side without the powder) and then go in. I find this to be the best way to set without getting too heavy. If you like to set with powder, with a puff, try the flick and tap or just the flick or just the tap! It’s a great way to set without getting too cakey too quickly ❤

I love that this is the summer of setting powder! Pink ones at that, yes!!! Especially with the Givenchy train wreck. My new LYS powder just arrived today, I’m excited to try the MUBM, I got the Tower 28 pink powder and I’m not wowed by it but it’s nice to have a pressed. I also just picked up the Chanel loose powder which I really hope wasn’t a $50 mistake. I can never refrain from blurring powders and bronzers. Those are my two makeup weaknesses.

They really are different. I do like the Mario, but the original Givenchy powder is still unparalleled. I’ve seen people compare the Chanel and the La Prarie (spency), but I’ll stick with a few others I have. I do love the Jones Road and the Ami Cole!

To me, the reason that Givenchy powder is a magic in a jar is because of how silky, blurring and smooth it is on the under-eye area while remaining undetectable. I have dry and super thin skin under the eye area, even if I keep the area well-moisturized, 95% of the powder in the market still doesn't work for me. So far, my luck has been only with the by terry hyaluronic translucent powder and Givency, but sadly that Givenchy is soon gonna be a no go :( That being said, make up by mario doesn't seem bad in terms of smoothness and blurriness, but it looks a bit heavy and will 100% show that you are wearing make up which personally not a fan of...

Have you tried the Pat McGrath under eye powder. I am 43 and cannot use anything else. Just use a light hand with a brush. It never makes me look crepey.

The only powder that works on my nose is the Givenchy. I’ll have to try the Mario because ALL of my other favorite powders (blurring, hydro) mess with the makeup/ emphasize the pores on my nose as I get older-but, I’m oily and must powder... 😑

I tried the Huda Beauty once I found I couldn’t grab any more Givenchy and it’s just a lot heavier in my personal opinion as well. I’m on my own journey trying to find another one as well, but Niki LaRose just did a video telling us about good alternatives though and I’m going to grab a couple.

I’ve only gotten to use it a couple of times and both were shorter events and didn’t have it on long, but I’ll be doing my own sort of wear test tomorrow to see how it holds up to my oils at work!

First of all, some of the light shades (1 and 3) are now too glowy, but you have the similar one to the old 2- that was Satin Blanc now it is Blanc divin, it contains talc. Darker shades don’t have that. Givenchy won’t be bringing talc in the formula anyways. And more and more brands will remove it. It is dangerous mineral by itself and very often is contaminated with even worse. Anyways I never got anything beside translucent shade. Givenchy while it had shades it remains just light like Lancôme (this is extra for the oily skin) or Chanel one.

Not usually a fan of Makeup by Mario… eyeshadow palettes have great color stories but the texture is so dry that it’s almost dusty. Hard pass for me. I do like the lipliners though. And now, I can’t wait until the powder launches 🚀! My son is combo, so I don’t mind something just a *tad* heftier. It will just last longer on me 😊 Thank you for consistent, great reviews!
