+Katie Astacio- I know, when she mentions that these lancome and urban decay products were sent to her, I start to wish I had her (second) job! But she puts in the time and effort for this channel so she deserves it. With my full time job plus call I wouldn't have the energy to keep up with filming multiple videos a week. And as far as giving away the makeup that was sent to her, well she didn't ask for those products or pick out colors she likes. I'm sure they were unsolicited.

There is SO many negative comments on here and I think it's ridiculous! We ALL should be more honest with our makeup collection! I have a bunch of stuff that I never ever pull out the back if my draw (honestly I can't bear to part with them even though I REALLY NEED TO). She's doing an awesome thing by passing the things on that she doesn't love to people who will put them to use! If we declutter then we have more space to find awesome things!

+Tasman Mulloy I think people are confused as to why she's getting rid of items she says she loves. Or, as I just read, she raves about products and then gets rid of them the following month. Some people find it hard to trust her word after that. Does that make sense? Personally, it's her makeup and her money and if she wants to keep buying things just to get rid of them a few weeks or months later, it's her business. However, I do understand why people are confused. It's consumerism gone wild.

I love purge videos but, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but constantly purging then repurchasing really isn't making progress. I think setting goals to finish items like starting a project pan series will not only move things out of your collection but you could get use of something you don't normally do and instead of tossing it bc you just don't touch it, not bc you don't like it, you can finish it instead.

For the average consumer, there's no reason to keep repurchasing... YTers make it possible for the rest of us to "pick and choose" what products we want to buy.

Unfortunately sometimes you get things you like, but just don't work out for texture, finish, shade/undertone, etc reasons. Forcing yourself to finish (aka wear daily) items you don't love as much isn't feasible. I've been talked into/bought without testers available products that are lovely but just don't work.

I give you so much credit for being able to be honest with yourself and get rid of what you don't use. I've got so much makeup and I have such a difficult time getting rid of things because I can't get past the fact that I spent money on it!

Love, love, LOVE your decluttering videos. You are always so honest with yourself in what you actually need and use vs. what you want to keep because of the amount of money you spent on it, but does not actually work for you. I love the spin on the kon mari methods original "keep what makes you happy" to "would I buy this again". I think this works a little more efficiently because some makeup products (like concealer) doesn't exactly make people jump for joy.

How does one end up with so much makeup that they don't like? We all have misses but dam that was like an entire collection worth of unwanted products. I agree completely. Get rid of it because life is too short to waste on using making that you don't love. But maybe make better spending habits because all this consumerism and waste is horrible for our world. I like the idea but still bad habits in the long run.

A lot is sent to me for review and I also invest in some just to review on my channel but once I realize it doesn't work, I like to pass it on so it doesn't just sit in my collection. :)

Sometimes it's that stuff use to work for her or she use to like it, but now doesn't. She did say with the foundations that she was getting the wrong color and got rid of a lot that she use to use but were the wrong color. A lot of makeup people have so much makeup they don't even know what to do with. So it's good to downsize the collection once in a while. She doesn't trash it either, she usually passes it on to her sisters or friends.

I think this is 100% better than having the ridiculously huge collection other people on KZbin have, that's why I like Jessica a lot. But if I throw it away I feel bad because I feel that I'm wasting products. Any ideas on what to do with the makeup you don't want/use?

Jessica, before you get rid of the foundation that is too light, check out Million Dollar Tan Shade Upgrade Extreme Dark Foundation Booster. When added to your foundation it will make it darker. I've bought it and used it and it works. You kinda have to practice with how much to use, but it does work!!! Love your videos!!!

Can you imagine how annoying it must be for Jessica to read all the, "Could you give it to me?", "I'm a mom and can't buy things for myself", "What are you going to do with all the makeup you're giving away?" comments? Or the, "I wish I was related to you," comments. Really? You wish you were related to her just so she could give you things? Nice. I know it can be hard to see someone with so much makeup constantly buying it and then getting rid of it when you have very little, but if it's hard for you don't watch. I can't stand watching people get hurt in videos (or in real life), so I don't watch America's Funniest Videos or prank videos. Just avoid things you know will upset you, if you can. You'll be much happier for it. Jessica - if you're doing a dupes video, don't get rid of the L'Oreal Infallible Shadow in Iced Latte just yet. It's supposedly a dupe for Stila Kitten.

I'm constantly mixing foundations for the perfect finish and color! You should try getting a Cover FX Custom Cover Drops in a slightly darker shade and mix it with all the foundations that were too light for you! CFX Cover Drops are amazing!! My favorite combo right now is mixing a primer, Cover Drops (2-3 drops) with the L'Oreal Infallible Pro Matte foundation. My makeup doesn't budge all day!

I feel like you still kept a ton of gold/champagne/cream shimmer shades. When I purge I would rather keep one or two palettes of colors I only occasionally wear than a bunch of the same shade even if I wear it more often. That way I have the option of doing a more colorful look when I get in the mood.

On the high end items you should send to glambot and do a video on what you sent, how much was in each approximately, and what they offered you. No videos like that on KZbin. Lots of glambot hauls but nobody talks about and shows each item they sent in and what the offer was, etc. Love all your videos! Keep up the great work!

I do the same thing when I declutter my makeup. I ask myself "Am I ever going to wear this?". A lot of the stuff I love the formulation, but the color doesn't work for me. Some I just end up hating. So I really like this video. Also like you, I always give my makeup away to family and friends instead of just throwing it away. I figure let it go to a home where it's actually gonna get used up instead of me holding onto it because I "might" wear it. Great video!

agree 100%....i also don't get why she still gets subscription boxes,it just doesn't seem to fit in with the way she wants to keep her makeup collection (full of only her favorite stuff that she loves) since the products you get are so hit & miss....i get that she reviews them for this channel (her "2nd job") but there are other things besides sub boxes to review...like, wait until a new product line launches, buy 1 or 2 to see if she likes them & if she does, the buy all the colors she likes and will use & do a review on those...just my thoughts/constructive criticism

I love watching decluttering videos... seeing massive collections give me so much anxiety. I used to also have the mind set of "buy buy buy" and always wanting MORE, but since downsizing my makeup, I feel so much freer. So I do understand why people think getting rid of makeup is "wasteful" but I also have to disagree. The money is already spent. There's no reason for you to "make a foundation work" by mixing it if you already have other foundations that match you! It's just my opinion that there isn't a point in forcing yourself to use products you don't LOVE if you already own several others... many people take months and months to even finish a bottle (especially if you rotate them) so it's better to use the ones you like before they expire!!

Have you ever thought of trying Make Up For Ever Chromatic mixes? I too found that I had too many wrong coloured foundations in my collection but the white and brown mixes have been great for lightening and darkening foundations I already own. They have been great for helping me use up foundations. I also got the yellow drops to neutralize the pink drugstore foundations!

I love your videos especially your review videos so much because we have the same type of skin. At first I thought I had oily skin, but I have learned I have combo-normal skin. Oily on the forehead, dry around the mouth and chin, normal everywhere else! You are definitely one of my top favorite youtubers :)

A lot of people don't understand purging, but for me it keeps my mind at ease. I get anxiety from the stupidest things, like having too many candles or nail polishes so I sell some that I don't use/need or give my sisters and mom. I really don't like collecting. Somehow it bothers me too much if I have more than I need/use. Like I only have one lip balm right now because that's all I can handle lol

I bought the rimmel color stay whipped that you recommended and I really like it so far. I'm not experienced with makeup at all, but I'm experimenting so I can put together a makeup look for my upcoming wedding. :)

omg I am almost in tears over you going through the by by process of decluttering I know the makeups going to the good home but it's so sad when there are people out there that can use the makeup and you're getting rid of it but what about the makeup that doesn't get a new home what do you do with it.
