Great find! I never bought the Amrezy highlighter, but I did buy the Revlon (because if Emily) and love it. Revlon has some amazing products, especially for lips, and no one talks about this brand. Most influencers just swipe a little on the back of their hand and give it a bad review without even giving the item a chance. No wonder they filed for bankruptcy last year! The YT space is not supporting this brand and that's a shame.

I’ve wasted my money and time with that word and every time I purchase the “dupe” it’s either similar or not a “dupe.” Yes everything on the outside of the packaging but not the formula. Hey Emily! I wrote this on 4/28/24 after watching your "tornado" video... "Thank you for your extremely well-done makeup and skincare videos. I trust you the most of everyone I watch on KZbin. You seem to still be the "objective reporter" in my view. Great job, Emily! Please be careful with those tornadoes!! Do you have a basement or storm shelter you can take refuge in during tornado warnings? In the early 90's I lived in an apartment in Texas for about 2 years after I got out of the Marines. We had no basement, of course. My family is all from Minnesota, and several have had close misses with tornadoes. I learned from them that you should always head to the basement during a tornado warning. I was not happy (as I sat in a bathtub with my two year old son during one such warning) when I realized that I had unwittingly moved to "Tornado Alley" and was living in an apartment without a basement! That was my bad for not doing enough research before deciding where to take our final military move. It all worked out in the end, but I spent a few memorable times trying to keep a very active toddler in the tub with me, with his quilts and pillows. 🥴 Hang in there, Sweetie! ❤🙏⛪👍 You looked beautiful in that cool eyeshadow look you created in that video! Since my skin tone is cool rather than warm, I find myself wishing (very often) that there were more cool toned selections in eyeshadow palettes. I'm not sure if I'm the viewer who told you about the ABH amrezy and Revlon highlighters being dupes, but I have always thought that. I own both and I love them equally. I was so happy when I bought the Revlon one upon your recommendation because Amrezy is one of my favorite highlighters of all time and was discontinued a long time ago. I have a few dupes that, I feel, were never advertised as such, but are obvious dupes. Like Abh Modern Renaissance and WnW Rose in the air. I'd say they are similar, not dupes since the formula is very different; but looks super cute. Also, Rimmel Magnif'eyes palettes, obvious dupes for some Urban Decay Naked palettes. All good, but different. And I love them. ❤

I have a real luxury dupe for you! ♥️ Victoria Beckham Kajals have a veeeery suspiciously similar formula to the Zoeva Velvet Love kajals and they are half the price! Only the smudger is missing from the Zoevas, the colours are also veeeery similar. I've tried both Cocoas each on one eye, couldn't tell a difference from application, smudge or staying power. Companies have been putiing out these recognizable dupes, and somehow, the old days of people genuinely finding the high end/drugstore dupes has been thrown into our everyday existence. Great video, Emily. I would often like a dupe or close match to some of my favorite discontinued products. For example, Shiseido Rose Vintage lip pencil was my holy grail "my lips but better" lip liner. Couldn't find it anywhere anymore. The closest I've found is Revlon Colorstay lipliner in "Mink." I was sad to see that Beauty Bakerie closed its entire brand. I loved that Champagne blush palette. Maybe an idea for a future video... replacements for discontinued products.

Yay! Dupes! 😊 I love these types of videos and the suggestions. I have seen a number of people raving about the Revlon skin lights highlighter, lately. I’m definitely going to look into using eyeshadow sticks on my lower lash line. Pencil eyeliners and regular eyeshadow make my eyes water when applying them to the lower lash line for some reason. I Will have to look into Pony! Do you, or anyone here in the community, have any suggestions for ones that will add a pop of color when wearing a neutral eye? I hope everyone has a great weekend.

I've had skin lights and elf pinky loose powder for a while. The highlighter dupe has been around for awhile and is amazing! I have so many powders I forget I have the elf lol! All the other dupes are new to me so ty!

I love your take on this topic! I was going through my blushes recently and discovered that the Milani baked blush in berry amore is very similar to the Laura Geller baked blush in pink grapefruit in both formula and color. Not exact but very close.

Always love your dupe videos ❤ I agree that people use the word “dupe” too loosely as opposed to calling something similar or an alternative. I will say though, I think it’s great that some brands are making it easier for people to find dupes/alternatives. Not only is it nice because some people may not be able to afford the expensive products, but some people also don’t have the time to search for dupes either. It’s convenient and saves time for people who can’t search, or the people who don’t have a makeup collection to search through for dupes in the first place. Of course though, it’s always a rush of excitement to find a dupe that wasn’t obvious lol but from an accessibility standpoint and thinking of others’ situations, I think it’s nice that some brands do this.

While on first look both sides look almost identical. One thing that stands out on the high end side is that your skin (particularly on the cheeks & undereye) looks so much smoother than the affordable side. High end is just doing something special that makes products go on and look smoother.

I'm still loving the Pony shade in the Hard Candy stick. It's so pretty, and it stays super well. It doesn't run down my face... thank you for the recommendation on that. I use it every time I wear makeup.

Great video Emily, and I agree with you 💯 % - it almost seems lazy for a company to literally just try to copy a high-end product ( color, packaging etc ) and call it a DUPE , as you said they should do what they do well and let the consumer dupe them and love and appreciate them for their great performance not just because they look like something else. Thank you for your recommendations, I have purchased many of my drugstore products based on information you've provided us, you haven't steered us wrong even once lovely lady....

Oh. My. Gosh. I have had those elf lip liners for a while now. I thought it was so weird and annoying the shade names weren't on them. I kept them in the bags they came in so I know the names. When you just said the names are on the top.....😂😂😂 I swear I searched them up and down 😭🤣 thank you for the duh moment first thing in the morning lol love it

Both sides of your face look the same. Great find in dupes!! I practically laughed when you said the Elf creamy lip liner Pinky Swear was a dupe to the CT Pillow Talk cause I bought the Elf lip liner hoping it was similar to the Pillow Talk! I have the shade Baddest Beige and Mauve Aside is also on my list.
