I used to visit my parents once a month (and stay the weekend), it felt worth it then. But now with covid, I have barely seen them at all the past year, so travel makeup hasn’t been a priority. I still have enough makeup that is travel friendly that “travel-friendly” isn’t a reason to get something.

As much as I love the idea of Natasha Denona palettes, they’re literally just too expensive, especially considering that they’re very hit or miss. I could honestly buy 3 good quality eyeshadow palettes for the price of 1 potentially bad Natasha Denona palette. You’d expect with a price tag like that, the palettes would be groundbreaking, not average.

I don't have a great sense of smell, but after burning for a while the candles kind of smell like plastic to me? Not like burning plastic thankfully, but like the candle's scent and plastic. So I always wind up checking it to make sure nothing stupid happened like some plastic falling into it and melting 🤨

Honestly I think about the winky lux cream blushes constantly... my local target has them up for display so every time I go in there now they taunt me. Like I KNOW they're gonna get destroyed after a couple uses but 🥺 pretty flower

They really don’t get “destroyed” as quickly as you’d think, I only use mine every once in awhile and it definitely doesn’t look new anymore but the petals are made very stiff so they don’t budge too much. It’s honestly a really pretty blush and easy to use, doesn’t deposit too much color right away but you can layer it to get nice payoff. Not too matte or dewy, just natural color on your skin. If you already have a ton of cream blushes, probably skip it because it’s not life changing, but if you’re in need of a cream blush it’s very recommendable.

Hey Hannah! That Anastasia highlighter actually has a gold shift to it! Michele Wang reviewed it and it actually was more gold/little bit darker than the Amrezy one. I would watch her video first and see what you think ☺️ (it wasn’t a dedicated video, it was one where she reviewed lots of different things)

@@camilleeppstein me too. Even Michele said it was too dark for her, so it makes it very confusing of who the highlighter is targeted too. Most people would imagine it’s icy white (because why wouldn’t you) however, it’s got quite a dark gold shift which wouldn’t work on fair skin tones and probably only on medium-deep skin tones, but those people wouldn’t know that cause it looks white! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ who knows

I find “travel makeup” is so useful for me since I go back and forth from my house to my boyfriends house every week. I need versatile products that don’t take up too much space! I can totally see how “travel makeup” sounds like bs tho haha just remember that “travel” can simply mean having to pack an overnight bag to go somewhere. Loved this video btw! Agreed, I fell in love with ABH palettes because of how well they function for travel, including just out of town for weekends/seeing family really quick retouch. many options to choose, but fit nicely in my makeup bag, and great mirror! a smaller version would be cool but I have quads and other small palettes for I should only bring bare minimum makeup, so I’m trying not to buy more, but I totally get looking for the perfect travel/touch up eyeshadow palette. :)

Actually....about that rose blush....I found them at Target and was intrigued, so I bought one. It is the most interesting product. It is totally 3D, not an embossing, and you don't ruin it the first two or three times you use it. It is a pain in the butt to store, though.

They're powder, not cream blushes, but Milani has some rose-embossed blushes. I've had one for quite awhile and even though I've used it a lot, the embossing still looks pretty good and it's also a really nice blush.

There is a rose embossed powder blush on shopmissa.com from Amuse cosmetics that is also rose scented that I absolutely love, and it's only $1. The downside is that they are notorious for not having stuff in stock.

The ND pallet works with the “quadrant “ pattern. So each four square colors all go together. ALOT of pallets work that way. Hope that helps 😊

tbh i like when people recommend products by saying they're "good for travelling", like i don't 'travel' a lot in the sense that im not going on extravagant vacations all the time but i do like travel-friendly products for when (during non-covid times) i'm staying over at my boyfriend's or staying somewhere for a concert or event. i totally get it that "it travels well" is a silly justification for buying something but i do find myself being like "oh the packaging is cute and doesn't take up a lot of space? work, i'll buy it"

I personally bought the Van Gogh Starry Night palette because I loved how they really took colors from the painting and made them shades in the palette...and I really love it!! Storybook Cosmetic’s formula is really lovely! The mattes are pigmented and blend well and the shimmers are stunning, IMO.

The ABH iced out highlighter is actually very gold base and isn’t as “icy” as some would think. Very pretty on darker skin tones.

I used to do my makeup in the parking lot at work because I had bad time management skills 😅 I loved and still love mini makeup that travels well! I like the versatility. It doesn't force my hand to buy something, but it gets major points if it's something I can travel with, even if it's to slap some makeup on my face when I'm running late!

In defense of the rose blush (sorry I had to)I made myself finish five other blushes and then I let myself buy the winky lux rose. I have not used it yet because I have to finish one more cream blush but then I’m going to use it. If it helps the blush is very step so using a sponge and a brush on it won’t destroy it and the rose is a complete product you won’t have a pool of product at the bottom when you finish the rose.

I think 99% of the trips to market, drugstore I am make-up free. I would always put foundation,brows,blush,mascara when pandemic started. Now I'm like nah im good going fresh faced. I have even stopped using the flat iron on my hair. Of course I would love to go somewhere to wear a nice make-up look but I don't think the cashier at walmart gives a crap. Hahahaha

Ulta employee here. You are SO smart for skipping out on the ABH highlighter because 1. It’s actually like a white with a weird yellow shift highlighter in person and not an icy one like they advertised 2. It’s NOT anything like the Amrezy formula (it just looks like it and 3. It’s a GLITTER BOMB! My coworkers and I were so excited to search it before we put it on display and were so disappointed as soon as we did. It’s awful!

On the point of the Dior brushes and the ones that come in compacts in general, I think people of a certain age do get use out of them. My mom relies on them for cheeks and eyes, though she does buy a separate brush for setting powder. I bought her some eyeshadow brushes for Christmas one year but she always goes back to the sponge tip. I think because she learned to do her makeup with those it's just easier for her. It's so interesting to think about how makeup has evolved over the years and a lot of it started with us watching our moms doing their makeup and wanting to try it out too
