I agree totally with you on how people treat you differently with makeup and clothing choice. I'm a ministers wife and get scrutinized when I run into someone. I'm absolutely treated different depending on how I'm dressed and if I have makeup on, at some places. Not Nordstrom, though. I can go in there looking like he'll, and if I ask them to put that LaPrarie on me, they sure are happy to do it, and they'll go the extra mile and also offer me the Cle de Peau. I love Nordstrom!!!

@@deann3621so basically I went to Sephora and the lady she put that eye cream on first to see if it can make a difference to my under eye, it was magic!!! I was like wait what? Nikki, I love your perspective on how you like to be put together, when you go to your jobs. Right or wrong. I agree with the aesthetics that come with that. As a consumer, if I were to go to a hair stylist for the first time, and her hair is a mess, it would make me weary of her touching my hair. People such as; makeup artists, hair stylists, fashion stylists, even those working in make up stores - are essentially walking business cards for their business. When I worked in the construction industry, I would say that our job sites were our business card. Potential clients would see if our sites were well maintained, or if they were a hot mess, which could affect them wanting to use us for future jobs.

Totally agree with makeup artists getting ready. I’ve been on many sets getting my makeup done and when I’m working with a makeup artist for the first time I naturally do judge the appearance of them when I arrive. If they are ready, makeup done, put together … I instantly feel at peace that I’ll look good when they are done. When they aren’t ready , no makeup, hair in bun…. I do get nervous.
