Most of us never give a second thought to how everyday items can be so complex and intricate. That is a cool hat. Loved the Pendleton Native American designs for as long as I can remember. Great build. Fantastic video!

Hey Miles! This was a great video and a really good tutorial. I hadn’t seen anyone use a bias tape maker to feed directly into a sewing machine before, and I loved your little paper jig to feed the material around the foam under the presser foot. Those two ideas are really getting my brain ticking! I found your channel through Laura Kampf, and I’m seriously impressed. I enjoyed your choice of music and calm, clear narration too.

Excellent job in this hat, dude! Thanks for breaking this down and making it easy to understand. Here is my PSA for everyone who does not live near them: if you call Pendleton Mills they will sell you scraps for a good price. At least they did pre-lockdown. I have something similar to this one and you know I am going to be using it for a cap now.

I am looking at Peltex from Pellon. www.pellonprojects.com/?s=Peltex&submit= I took apart an old snap back and it had chipboard for the brim, but I want something that will not get wrecked if it gets wet. I also read someone is using plastic like the kind used for milk/water jugs, but I want something I can shape cos I am picky about how my brim looks. Pellon is sold a lot of places, your best bet would be a craft store unless you want to buy a full bolt off Amazon. Hope this helps!

Nicely done, sir. I wonder how hard it would be to make a corduroy floppy hat? I used to have one back in the day. It was lost during an outing to the beach in St. Augustine 25 years ago. I’ve been searching for one ever since. Have you thought about doing your own custom interior for your car?

great video! been looking through your channel and loving the videos what would you say the difficulty level of a sewing project like this is? Yeah, it's totally not hard to make a hat and stuff like this when you have a double needle on the freaking tape machine and awesome sewing machines
@xrayrunner3156 Жыл бұрын
I just made this exact hat following these instructions on home sewing machine. A double needle attachement is like 5$ for it...
@Gboyrides Жыл бұрын
@@xrayrunner3156 yeah but double needle attachment leave a weird like knot on the back side since it's not a true double bobbin
@Gboyrides Жыл бұрын
@@xrayrunner3156 and if you're not working with like a heavy duty or like an old ass sewing machine, a newer singer simple won't make it through the brim material and if you double up your tape and you're using like denim, it barely makes it through three folds of denim, but I have an old Montgomery Ward and it looks like a boat anchor that'll go through fucking plastic it's much easier though if you have multiple machines already set up everything you need a taping machine double needle walking foot and then you know you can whip up a hat in like five minutes not literally but pretty close once you got your patterns cut out I guess if you got a cricut it would make it a lot quicker
@xrayrunner3156 Жыл бұрын
That’s true! Haha will have to do for now..

@@xrayrunner3156 same but I did get to make like three hats. So far off of this video took me like four hours for the first one now but it was mad fun I love these five panel hats.
