Indoor hay feeder, use some wood 2x2s to make a box and use lattice to make all the walls and bottom. They can pull the hay out and don't waste much at all. Works great for our girls.

I am 53 and the first time I ever seen anyone make hot-dogs is from Lumnah Acres. I smoked hot-dogs once and now my wife only wants to eat them smoked. Her birthday is October 3rd. We have an alternative tradition for birthdays. The person gets to choose a birthday party or eating out for 7 nights leading up to their birthday. We usually choose eating out for 7 nights.

Gooood Mawnin' Al! Wow, cool hot dogs! I once was at a hot dog factory that made there own dogs from scraps and all kinds of fillers, they tasted good but then it was kinda like mystery dogs! Yours are so superior that there should be a different name for what you made! Maybe Lumnah Dogs?

I am liking that cart too. My brother had some sort of a wooden one on his farm some thirty-one years ago. I remember I used to lug it around to stand on to put in fence posts by myself. It gave me the added height I needed to use that tool for driving metal stakes into the ground. Very convenient. I am gonna need one of those in my near future. :D yay!

So glad you got yourself a cart. I know you’re young and healthy and strong but it’s sooooo easy to hurt back. I know you’re careful and I’m NOT being a know it all troll, I just have had 7 spinal surgeries. I have so many rods and screws holding me together it’s ridiculous. I honestly just care and don’t want to ever see anyone go through what I have. I encourage my own kids (who’re adults too) to always take care of their joints, spine. Miss Livvie is doing so good with goats. Loved seeing her run out to help. She keeps at it and she’s gonna be as good at farming as the Rhodes “chiddlers.” She’s already as awesome! And just a sweetheart. I love how much she loves her animals. Figaro sure loves her. Just realized we didn’t see Pluto in this clip. She was probably avoiding the rain. LOL Our weather here in Ohio is insane too. We’ve topped 100 so many times it’s crazy and it’s only June. Can’t even go outside except early morning or late evening to water and tend the garden cause...well...I’m old...Hahahaha. They’ve seriously had air quality alerts literally every day though. Anywhooooo...I’ve rattled on enough. Sorry about that. I was just happy ya got you a cart and are taking care of yourself in that way, as well as growing yourself some awesome hotdogs!!! Have a great weekend. God Bless you all. ~Lisa

I used to work prep at a restaurant and had to make Italian sausage 3 to 4 times a week. The night before take your casing out put them in a cup of water with 1/8 cup of your pink salt and let them soak in the fridge 24 hours before using.. Then when you go to slide it in the tube you open it up and scoop up a little of that salt water so that by the time your done putting it on the tube that salt water brine you made passes through the entire intestine and you can skip that whole method at your sink :)

Try looking in the garden center for a metal window basket for under windows. I think it might work for an indoor hay rack for the goats. Lowe's has one that is black metal 30 inches long by 7 inches wide for about $15. Look it up and see what you think. I'm sure other places carry the same thing if you don't have a Lowe's near you. You could screw it to the inside of the goat barn.

Did you see my previous comment about making a key hole manger through the barn decider? It is very simple; Just move a board over so there is enough width for the neck but not the shoulders then make a notch at erect head height on each side to put the head through. Mostly they will keep the head in the manger when eating.

Ya, with 3 of you I you don’t need much. We have 11 in our family so 1 ND gives us enough milk for coffee and for me to make soap. If I save up for a week I can do a big batch of kefir too. By this time next year, we will hopefully be milking goats, sheep and our cow (thankfully I have a lot of milking helpers here).

Can I have the recipe for the hot dogs, please? My kids will love you forever since I don't let them eat that garbage at the store. Just in case anyone is as neurotic about crawlies as I am...I usually keep spices in jelly jars or bigger next to a coffee grinder I bought just for that purpose. Whole spices are also a LOT cheaper at your local Indian grocery store. I buy huge amounts (I have a lot of kids) for way less than the grocery store or Amazon there. They usually have small bags too in case you don't want a lot, but they last damn near forever in a mason jar especially if you vacuum seal most of it for later.

Al this video really resonates with me. My wife recently sent me to the grocery store for among other things sausage. It was so disheartening to see all the ingredients I couldn’t pronounce and blatant added chemicals. Why can’t we expect to have just ground pork and seasonings? Where did things change and the consumer just assumed that the food companies know what is safe to consume? Just sad. Hopefully one day I can do something similar to what your family is doing. Until then I just have to keep trusting in God to keep me healthy.
