Your brain was spot on with the brass and the filed detail on the spacer, You should listen to that guy more often. It's a shame about the cracks but I guess that means you get to keep one of your coolest pieces which is unusual for u makers!

But after watching your videos, especially this one, it became clear to me: You are a phenomenal bladesmith and an awesome human! moin ... kleiner Tipp ... kauf dir mal par "Trennstemmer" .. sehen bissl aus wie Meisel nur mit gerade Fläche vorn, in verschiedenen Stärken, so 2mm; 3mm; ... 5mm usw .. die sind dafür gedacht, wenn man etwas ausbohrt die Stege raus zu schlagen .. das geht sehr viel schneller als da bei der Guard alles mitm Dremel raus zu schleifen 😉.. kosten was um die 10€ das Stück, die Zeit und der Aufwand den man spart .. unbezahlbar .. wichtig dabei aber so knapp wie möglich im Schraubstock spannen, sonst verbiegt man was, bzw schiebt Material, wie beim Meisel

Obwohls mit dem Dremel mit den neuen Fräsern schon in 2-5 minuten geht. 😄 Aber danke für den tipp! ich schau mir das mal an klingt auf jedenfall interessant!

yeah i filmed with GoPro's back then. They have this super wide angle thing. i had one blade where i looked at the footage and been like "HOLY CRAP IS THIS THING WARPED?!" but looking at it was straight as an arrow 😄🤣

Just out of curiosty. Let's say you made a damascus knife, but did not etch it. Would the same pattern emerge eventually through patina, or would it never really be obviously damascus?

Seriously man if you did flags around the world it would be at least a year of content, amazing mosaic damascus builds, and ultra challenging. I've seen not one bladesmith try it. He'll I would IF I could.... I think you guys could. You dudes got the skills to pay the bills my friend... and are super fun to watch. Any ways just my 2 cents.
