I've repeatedly heard that gloves near rotating power tools are a bad idea. Is this relevant in case of the beltsander?
@MartinHuber_Knives2 ай бұрын
totally agreed on drills and similar On a grinder its not as big as a problem since the belt cuts through the glove and not dragging it in

There is nothing call Damascus steel !!!! Its crucible steel also called woots Once imported to Siria by Arab they use to make knives and swords to be exported to Europe! The pattern is not because of any prints or layer forging but due to manufacturing process of the steel in small crucibles It was known to people of particular of south India! These art of steel making was the inspiration of mass production in Europe The art was lost or you may say forced to be forgotten by the British by banning steel production in India!! Very unfortunate But many did re invented it !! Many swords are there in British museum which were made of this steel..

Okay 👍🏻👍🏻

@ Please try to smelt ukku steel (woots) in small crucibles.. you may have to do some research regarding the ingredients and the process But I am sure will get lot of views and will be appreciated! Many tried with some success Will really appreciate if can Regards
@tecumifyАй бұрын
Well it is what modern bladesmiths refer to as damascus steel, pattern welded steels as introduced by (I think) Bill Moran in the 1970s. Yes it's not the original damascus steel we now refer to as wootz, but as far as I know no one recreated the original wootz as of yet. There were attempts and some succesful but still not like the original apart from it looking like it.
@PeacefulSecularGuyАй бұрын
@@tecumify But layers of different types of steel don’t add any functional value.. yes it’s looks artistic
@tecumifyАй бұрын
@@PeacefulSecularGuy didn't say they would mate, modern steels would be higher quality than higher wootz as well (depending if the research done shows results if the carbon nano tubes found in original wootz make a difference or not)
