Sonicating might get the flakes off.

Didn’t think about that . I hand scrubbing them with a bottle cleaning brush . Any thing left over I was going to smelt into a bar and recover any values from the slimes in the copper cell .

@ Electrolysis seems to have limited utility.

@ I had some bigger pieces and honestly I thought it would go faster . But lesson learned I’m going to shut it down in a couple of days . Pull the cathode out wash off the silver and process it the tray will be melted and run through the copper cell also to collect any silver as slimes .

Isnt hcl and nitric aqua regia? Didnt think that was a thing for silver?
@Hill-138 күн бұрын
It’s sulfuric acid and Nitric I misspoke once in the video and did not catch it . Have you ever used this method before ? I know you have seen me use nitric and sulfuric acid to strip silver before .

@Hill-13 lol It's been so long for me I've forgotten how to do a lot anymore.

You two have forgotten more then I know lol but it's coming along eh

@ScroogeMcDuckn I misspoke and didn’t catch it during editing . AR would form silver chloride on the outer layer ( passivation) it could be tumbled or mechanically scraped off.

@@Hill-13 right, causing it to just build a layer on the outside, keeping it from continuing the process?
