It looks so beautiful! The trim may have taken its toll but it 2as so worth it! You might think about using an embroidery hoop in future for hand sewing on similar trims. It *may make it a bit easier on your hands 💕

You are a genius with trims! I could list so many examples from your makes where your trim choice is impeccable, but this dress and your spooky Gunne Sax from 2022 are my favorites.

The dress is absolutely stunning, Haley. And it fits like a glove! edit: With all the pintucks, sewn-in curved bib, full-on collar including a stand, and a hand-applied trim... 15 hours sounds reasonable. It might seem like a simple project but it consists of many time consuming details that (at least to me) are absolutely worth it.

You’re totally right on our not pushing ourselves when we don’t feel OK. I had no idea you worked full time AND did a YT channel - that’s incredible (particularly as I know the challenges of living with chronic conditions, disabilities, including Chronic Pain Syndrome). This is such a super cute make and I absolutely love your fabrics in every project - should have said that before! Sorry I can’t help our financially right now, but I hope the comment, like and subscribing do help drive people to see this! I think there are a lot of us symptomatic at the moment. Our weather has gone from fairly nice to wet, humid and generally yuck as autumn heads in. Every time there’s a season or temperature change, my body objects! Courage and solidarity, my friend x

Thank youuuu for this video! I have searched high and low for a tutorial on contrasting yokes because I couldn't quite figure out how to attach them. While this is not a tutorial, it's exactly the type of yoke I was wondering about, so this is extremely appreciated! I'll figure out the rest on my own. Thank you again 🩶

This came out super cute! I love that color and the trim was really a perfect match. I love trim but hate hand sewing it and so I usually skip it, but it just occurred to me that maybe machine sewing could work if you use an embroidery foot and drop the feed dogs? I think it would only work well with trim that was all one color though or if it had a border that was a single color. Now I want to try it….
@HaleyMarieVintage4 ай бұрын
Yes, with single color trims there are a lot of tricky stitching stuff that can make the machine work!

Thanks for showing the cost analysis, makes one appreciate one's storebought clothing more. And perhaps makes one stop buying more, at least in my case. I only buy work tshirts, socks and underwear these days. And I'm trying to learn how to make tshirts and undies because sweat shops suck and I don't enjoy supporting them in any way.
@HaleyMarieVintage2 ай бұрын
I'd also like to learn to make tshirts and underwear because in general those are the things I still buy too! Sewing is a lifelong learning skill so I know I'll be able to do it someday!

Hi Haley. I love watching your videos and am always fascinated with your cost breakdowns. Your dress is absolutely lovely. For funsies, I tried taking a screenshot from the reveal portion and did an image search using GoogleLens. I found several similar dresses (and sewing patterns which was unexpected) as different price points. I do not know if this is a tool you use now when trying to find comparables, but if not, it might be another technique to use in your arsenal. 🪡
@HaleyMarieVintage4 ай бұрын
Thank you, I use that tool all the time for my real job idk why I haven't run my own sewing photos through it. Now laughing at myself for not thinking about doing that haha
