The driveline torque issue on rwd cars would disappear if the differential was linked to the transmission. Some cars like the Porsche 924/944/968 series, also the 928 had a rear transmission with a torque tube from the engine. The Ferrari 365 GTC (and maybe other models) had a torque tube between the front-mounted transmission and differential. The only current car I know of which attends to this is the Mazda MX5 Miata, which has a sort of girder bridge.

I wish there were more shops like yours where I live. Clear goal, execution and checking with the costumer. Even when you do something the unusual way it doesn't compensate the end result nor look too hacky (well, maybe the shifter seems a bit messy, but that's WIP).

for someone who dont have experience understeer will be better as it have more margin compared to negative understeer gradient

Why solid aluminum everything instead of a hard poly or even delrin? Surely you want *some* kind of compliance, especially with the motor mounts for longevity of the engine? And Joe, I must give you kudos on the color choice. Yellow has always been the best Z car color every generation.

This is my car, ignore the Jack Sparrow my Pirate of the Caribean alter ego, and jeeze I am a young 64. I did a lot of research before pulling the trigger on solid mounts. Matt and Shehryar said this is the way to go. This fully eliminates wheel hop. And the ride is acceptable, IMHO. The only time there is a bit of a thud from the rear is a pothole or really really badly broken pavement. I am happy I went this route. The power gets down more efficiently with the solid motor mounts. And the Eibach sway bars have transformed the car. Turn in is way way faster and better with no body roll. Car control is so much better and it no longer pushes through the corners. Next up maybe coilovers and a helical LSD - Wavetrack anyone. If any one wants to donate these I would be glad to accept and I am sure XF would do a video. Anyway my mellow yellow is going for a long winter’s nap. See you on the mean streets in the spring.

A less smelly way to do those is to cut the rubber with a hole saw. If you want to not have to buy a new bush / ball joint tool DON’T USE IMPACT GUNS on them! Spin them down until they start to grab with a gun if you want but an impact gun destroys the threads.
@Roby86x Жыл бұрын
Nice thing, but one thing caught my attention. For sway bars, shouldnt it be other way around ? Front stiffest, back softest to induce more oversteer, instead of stock tendency to understeer.

do you also lowering the engine height after putting dry sump on it?
@pashakdescilly75173 жыл бұрын
The adaptor between engine and transmission is a key structural element of the chassis. It would be a lot of work to lower the engine.
