Motors in general dont need to be water proof. Especially brushed motors.

@@vampcaff So a brushed motor can stay underwater as long as cables and that is above/water proof?
@vampcaff3 жыл бұрын
Even the wires can go under water. This is actually how we break in rc brushed motors. We put the motor in a cup of distilled water and run the motor through different rpm cycles to break in the brushes. The only thing that will get harmed in water are electronics (esc or servos) if they aren't waterproof.

@@vampcaff Oh ok, ordered a new motor and came upon these vids and it will probably help alot cheers

I should really make a brushed motor break in tutorial.

is the dynamo waterproof?😊

Lol i wish rc's used dynamo generators! That'd be awesome. Everything on the craft was waterproofed except the motors that don't need it.

Great video! I did something very similar to this with a broken quadcopter and a 3d printed boat, but the internal gyro built into the circuit board made the boat go "bonkers" so it didn't work. How did you conquer the gyro?

I just made sure the board is oriented in the right direction and that its mounted flat. I pretty much just mounted it as it was in the quad frame just in the boat. I also used shoe goo to mount the board, hot glue could work too, this may have acted like a soft mount better isolating the board from unnecessary vibrations.

Corrosion-X is really good for waterproofing. There are probably videos for more information. I made a boat that is similar except that it is not 3D printed. Here is the the link to the video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXS1pX2Jh7Zmmac

I personally never trusted corrosion x since it's not really a sealant. I normally use plasti-dip but the shoe goo was lying around. Both have always worked for me with out ever frying any components so I'll stick with what I know works for me. But I'll look into it for sure. Thanks!
