Making A 4 Foot Long Plush of Aki the Dragon Pandeena

Aki is an original character belonging to my client and designed by Madshy Arts. He is a dragon pandeena, which is a noodle dragon/panda/hyena mix! I developed a new floppy quadruped pattern for him, and I'm so pleased with how he came out. At 4 feet long, he's the biggest plush I've ever made!
There was no light grey minky in existence, so I had to dye it myself. He also comes with a little koi fish friend, which he can hold with magnets!
The fish pattern was made by neon-juma on DA!

Astounding! I'm still getting used to my embroidery machine, how do you line up the fabric on the hoop to embroider in a specific place, especially after rehooping?

whats the clear stuff you use on top when embroidering? and is that paper towels for underneath?

the clear topping is water soluble stabilizer. the bottom is tear away stabilizer

a quick question, my oc has fins on her back (kinda like webbing or wing, you can kinda see it in my pfp) and i'm curious to know how you'd make them, i want to either make a plush of her myself or save up money to commission one and im a little stuck on the aspect

Is it ok to iron minky? I saw you did in the video. I got some at the fabric store and it’s got huge creases and wrinkles from them folding it. I tried dry iron on low and it didn’t do anything.

yes you can. i use the lowest setting that produces steam. then i iron the back in the direction of the nap and apply steam every once and a while. as long as you don't go overboard on the heat and keep the iron moving you'll be fine. minky is way more resilient than people make it out to be.
