@diecast41254 жыл бұрын
Thrust has so so so much more involved than simple nozels hahahaha....Elon Musk minaturized the motor for his space flights by doing the impossible. The mechanics in play during operation are somthing to marvel at. You have to realize your bassically encapsulating a enormous welding torch just millimeters from fuel that is not just flammable but requires a very very very low temp to act in usable ways. Yes a jet engine can be more or less produced with no moving parts but if you want thrust think a sequence of about no less than 25 actions/reactions timed and produced in a compact array of violent pancaked sandwiched tubes motors fuel exchange chambers and heat dissipation barriers. And all this has to be accomplished with reuse in mind i believe up to 5 burns/missions.
whoever does this can accomplish anything, can build everything Without limits. Skill, competence, precision, and basic theoretical knowledge, are just some of the qualities you possess, there is something magical and inexplicable in your head and in your heart. Greetings from Italy.

Q: How long will it run without lubrication. I realise that it was built as a demonstration of skill, and it achieves that in spades, but how often will it need tear-down and re-lubrication?

i would worry about heat before the lube fails, longer fins on the head heatsink, and crank fan would go a long way.

@mafiosomax74234 жыл бұрын
@@bundles1978 heat is the number one reason for lubrication failure
@bundles19784 жыл бұрын
@@mafiosomax7423 Yes heat can kill oil. But i am pretty sure the engine would overheat long before the oil fails. there is not enough thermal mass, or radiating surface area + forced airflow to keep the thermals in check. this would lead to predetonation, possibly damaging the piston. by the time the heat reaches the lube, the combustion chamber would already be damaged. If predetonation doesnt kill the engine, it will certainly warp the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and block, causing it to lose compression.
