This is why programmers will never fully be replaced. Knowing how/what to prompt and most importantly how to troubleshoot. Copilot and ChatGPT are not perfect and I would suspect they never will be. I've found Copilot to suggest really interesting things over the past few months, but I will say it is powerful at picking up what you are trying to do in large projects.

- Unrelated, but you could've used ! [TAB] to get a HTML boilerplate. You could've also used the auto-formatting for HTML that VS Code has by default to fix the tabbing. - Sometimes you can use Alt+\ to make it generate a suggestion when it doesn't have one. You can also use Ctrl+Enter to ask for it to generate a couple of longer suggestions. Aside from that, sometimes Copilot only looks at the code you have before in order to generate suggestions, not considering the code you have after.

Copilot doesn't suggest things like that out of the blue. You probably have, for example, the navbar written into some other file and the AI is taking it from there. That's why it's so quick for you to have those large chunks of code generated all at once. You didn't mention that.
