Making a Barrel Top Logo Sign

I need to make a sign like this for a friend. Thanks for the video! I haven't found anything else explaining the process.

Ok, so that last one with the side staves is exactly what I'm wanting to make. I want to cut the logo through the barrel top and use colored plexiglass with LEDs inside to light up the logo. And the whole sign would be 2-sided, with 2 of the parts like the one you showed at the end hinged together so the wiring will be secured inside and it can be hung on an angle iron bracket from above. Where would be a good source for a barrel? The ones I'm finding are old and weathered with rusted rings.

Some wineries will sell their old barrels but I found the bets source to be Craigslist. If you are located in California then you can also try www.winebusiness.com/classifieds/

Great video...especially at the beginning when you described what type of barrel head should be used. One question--I am just getting into CNCing and have Vectric software... could this have been done in Vectric, Adobe Illustrator (I have licenses for both of these), or some other program? Also, curious what type of screws you used to hold the bands...regular big box store, or did you find a source of cool, old-school screws? Thanks.

I am not familiar with the details of either Vectric or Illustrator but I suspect any graphic package could be used to generate the design. You will need something like Fusion 360 or V-Carve or Carveco to turn the graphics into G-Code however.
