hi guys! I know my “sewing” videos are not really “sewing”, but I’ve noticed filming really slows me down to the point I feel really uninspired and drop the project, so I decided to talk about what I did instead of showing it. I know it’s more boring that way so skip to 13:47 for the actual outfit 💃

You make it seem like Mary wore a live tiger when visiting the pool. Not everything was enforced fur and delicate strong fabric elegance beyond, their was summer sportswear of which was light and breathable, you wore layers which made underlayers cooler by shade and large covering. Wearing a large white jacket over you will cool you off even when it is meant to warm you. They didn't just make the outfits out of stupidity, everything was thought through...except racism.

@OrganicOrganist If I'm not mistaken, the protests against the new abortion ruling have been absolutely massive, which shows that there is actually a mountain and not just one made out of a mole hill by western media as you suggest. Of course, I do agree with your point that western countries (especially the US) shouldn't try to push their own standards onto other countries (like they've been shown to like doing in the past) but in this case it seems like an issue that a lot of your people were already passionate about. I concede that there are probably Poles who are fine with the ruling and current government, but I bet there are also a lot of people who do find it all terrifying like I said in my previous reply. Particularly my LGBTQ+ peeps and women who care about their bodily autonomy.

But, the video was wonderful and I adore how the outfit turned out and all we learned on the way. Thank you for being honest about your struggles and things not being perfect. I’m in the U.S. so it’s nothing but election madness, Republican/Trump voter suppression law suits, and covid numbers spiking in the news. It was extremely upsetting to hear, especially bc my mom is a rape survivor who had to have a “back alley” abortion bc it wasn’t legal yet at the time. I am so proud of everyone protesting there.

The cap is fine; to make it “flat”, stitch the top to the rim. I crocheted a flat cap and was worried it looked like a mushroom but later down the instructions, it directed me to attached the body to the rim. So mine looked like yours but ended up looking a bit more like a flat cap. You have to really push the body forward almost “over” the rim and then stitch it down. Does this make sense?

As beautiful as Bernadette's pieces are, it's nice watching someone make an outfit and at the end saying, "Yeah, I worked really hard on this and it's still kind of a dumpster fire, but it's fine." Because it IS fine. We don't have to hold ourselves to a standard of perfection if it means toiling away at a project for ages. Sometimes it's better to just move on, and try something else. Leave the rest to the people with more time and patience and research.

I'm so jealous of your frolicking in the leaves! There are too many people who don't pick up after their dogs where I live, it's too dangerous to assume one can frolic in the leaves on the ground. I also love the fabric, and the suit you made from said fabric.

The cut of your jacket is fabulous. So nicely done. My gran was a seamstress and I have many of the clothes she used to wear years ago. It looks like a wonderfully comfortable outfit and I love the hat. It does stand up a bit at times but other times looks completely spot on. The fabric style and design is so perfect in evoking the time!!

This style works for me, as much fun as it is to see sewing, I know sorting out angles and lighting and holding things in the right place and so on really adds to the energy required for each task. I think the jacket looks fine : ) But when things arn't as we imagined or didn't work out quite right it's hard to look past that sometimes.

You're looking wonderful, Karolina 😍! Thank you for a new history lesson of clothing from another time period! After watching this, I will read about what's going on in Poland; Germany is "right around the corner", and I haven't seen much about what is going on in Poland so far in our media! Such a shame, mainly getting news on U.S. elections 🙁!

Well when there is no role for women than mother allowed in a society or government It's not much of a surprise this sort of thing would happen. Stupid Kaczyński, Thanks to him I can't even WEAR something rainbow in Rawa mazowieczka because that would be interpreted as supporting lgbt.

This totally has reinspired me for a cosplay/bounding idea I had. There is a pair of kelpie in a episode of the new duck tales series. It’s all about golf. And at first I wanted to do a Lolita and golf outfit but wasn’t having much luck finding ideas to work with. But this Edwardian golf outfit is a the best starting point.

“don’t be afraid to start new sewing projects” fun fact! i’ve been so ~panicked~ lately that i broke out my dad’s ancient sewing machine & taught myself how to use it, and honestly it slaps. is my new bedsheet cloak among the world’s ugliest? probably but it’s got a big ol’ hood and made me feel like i accomplished something. anyways thanks for making Super Cool And Chill Videos, one day i’ll actually have the guts to make my own period attire but for now i continue to live vicariously through your work lmao
