white bronze is easy to cast too. It doesnt suffer from fire scale and is low shrink like silicon bronze.

thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. a question: do the wax models remain in the plaster mold during the pouring of the liquid metal? or is the mold heated to melt the wax before placing the molten metal? Sorry for my bad English!
@aonemarine4 жыл бұрын
The molds are put into a kiln and heated to 730c . All the wax is burned out prior to pouring the metal..

Great to see you can make a vacuum casting system without spending big money. Does the vacuum pump still work good with all the heat ?

Two questions. Is shrinkage of the metal much of a factor? And do you offer your services to others?
@aonemarine4 жыл бұрын
You get up to 2% shrinkage in the casting from the original. Not taking on any more work right now. My job is taking up too much of my time right now. Hopefully they hire a couple more people soon..

Hi I just saw VegOilGuy and his recommendation to visit, and I am glad that I did. Much to learn about. I was going to ask if just vibrating the mold would work instead of vacuum but you ended up vibrating it with your fist?

Awesome!! I want to get into lost PLA casting and I am looking to buy the RapidFire electric kiln on amazon for burning out the PLA from the investment. But the interior firing chamber on the RapidFire is only 6x6x5 inches volume.... will a flask fit in there??? Yours seems very large.
@aonemarine7 жыл бұрын
I actually use a pottery kiln for burn out. You can usually pick them up on craigs list for $100.00 then just add a temp controller from ebay to it and your done.

Impressive... after watching this I went down a deep rabbit hole on White Bronze and it got confusing... Yours looks perfect and shouldn't corrode or tarnish while others I read about would have all types of conflicting issues... Do you recall where you bought your White Bronze metal from? Thanks!...
