The mud, snow and salt season is coming, so an underbody washer is a nice thing to have if you want to keep your car clean and rust free. In this episode I am making an underbody washer for less than $25.
Even though this is somewhat of a prototype, it proves to be a powerful and very effective underbody washer.

To make a fan pattern from a circular hole you could squeeze the bolt head into the shape of an ellipse, and test-try it on 1 nozzle. Maybe need to squeeze/hammer the orifice like a slit/tighter. Maybe have to drill the hole larger, and then squeeze it into a flat shape. Washing the salt off is a FANTASTIC BONUS ! We have seen what road salt did to the LS-400. Great video, and thanks for making.

I've been testing with different profiles for the nozzle, not found the perfect one yet. This might be a 10 episode trial and error series 😉 Thanks for watching Joe!

That is a good idea. A couple of thoughts - 1/ I think if you drilled through the nozzle from above to flair the small hole might give you the spray pattern you were originally after, and 2/ you can bend the plastic tube slightly upwards with a hot air gun and some patience so you don't have to stoop as much..

I'll give your first suggestion a try Ben, it's absolutely worth a try. Thanks for watching!

BenMitro is correct. If you want to shoot a single stream the exit of the orifice should be a 90 angle. if you want the fluid to spread then you machine the exit orifice to have an angular flair at the angle of the flare, because "surface tension". Now Arnold just needs a small drill-bit with a 20/30/45 degree tip angle, and not drill all of the way thru the pilot hole. See diagrams: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spray_nozzle

Thanks for the tip Joe, I'll give that a try. I really need the underbody washer right now, there is so much muck and salt on the roads.
