I really loved watching this video. It’s informative and I especially enjoyed the calm pace of it and your voice and (Slavic?) accent. It was also very clearly explained and I’m confident I can give this a try myself now. Definitely appreciate a good homemade video like this without all the editing, quick scenes, flashing lights, annoying loud music and clickbait. Just a simple information video. Keep it going!

Guess 50% of people watching this video will become extremely strong climbers. Since you're watching how to make your own holds, I'm guessing you're on a budget and will only be able to fill a wall with crimps. haha :P

Jthanks for your video! very instructive! is it possible to put links to the products you use? and what amounts of mixtures?

Thank you, sorry for the delay. I could, but it wouldn't be much help because it is a local Croatian brand. All info is in Croatian. No English translation. For 1.5 liter of epoxy resin (both component) I would add 5 cups of sand. But this is something you could play with. To me is was a good mixture to pour into molds. If I added more sand I believe it would pour harder and perhaps not fill the mold right.

you mentioned using m8 bolts, most of what I'm reading says that m10 is standard. I know this isn't the basic thrust of your video but I was curious if you could comment on bolt size.

Your silicone is so creamy and soft.. My silicone is very sticky and tough to spread. What kind are you using?
@MrMarko234 жыл бұрын
I am sorry about the delay. It's just standard acetilen sanitary silicone or sealant. For sealing bath joints and sink and stuff. Cheapest stuff I could get

Also, with this type of silicone the ambient temperature plays a role. If it is cold where you work silicone will be less creamy more thick and vise versa, if it is worm it will be softer

Would it work to create transparent holds if you don't add color?
@MrMarko234 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay. No reason why not. Just don't add sand or paint. Of course, this way you will need more epoxy resin to fill the mold as there is no sand in the mixture.

Wait, was the filler you used to pour in the mix a sort of sand? Are your holds rough or coarse? And can you also afterwards paint them with some sand in it to make a better grip?

I use that method for my Model car builds and it works just fine.... see you in the web

Hi Marko, Brilliant video thanks! Do you use oil based paint, latex or a epoxy coloring agent? Thanks!
@MrMarko236 жыл бұрын
Tp P thanks man. It is alkyd resin based paint. I am not sure it is the best choice, but it was something I had on hand so decided to give it a shot. It turned out pretty good. I still use this type of paint but other tones, and it looks pretty good. Too bad I can't attach a photo here.

Can I use play sand?
@MrMarko234 жыл бұрын
I think you could use any type of sand within reason. As long as it is clean

What filler you are using?

Sorry for the delay. I tried both micro fiber filler and quartz sand. In the video I'm using micro fiber, which builds volume and adds strength, but in reality, sand gives you better surface finish and grip.
