In this video I make two Chris Reeve Knives style lanyards for my knives: Benchmade Immunity and Mini Adamas. In my opinion a lanyard is a perfect complement to your EDC knife or multitool.

I love putting Snake knot lanyards with 7 knots on every Knife possible. Some with and some without Titanium beads. Love the Channel, I try to watch everything you make. Keep it up! Do you have any Stickers of your Awesome Channel Logo! If not, you should get some made! We want some. 🔪👍😁👍🔧

Me too. Don't get why there's a lot of negative comments about them. I'm on a boat a lot and lanyards are sensible.

@allosaurusfragilis7782 a certain egomaniacal knife “influencer” made the removal of lanyard holes and glass breakers off folders into his life achievement goal. Don’t know why. The industry doesn’t really mind because not having a feature is cheaper for them than having it.

Nice demonstration. I think that technically these are fobs rather than lanyards, but doesn't really matter.

The first one is more of a fob but the second one is definitely a lanyard!

😂 I appreciate your intro explanation. I assumed it was intentional (for that exact reason) as your English and vocabulary is better than most native English speakers. More than that, I very much appreciate all of your videos. This one came in particularly handy as I generally only put a short lanyard with a bead on 3 finger knives for the extra length. However, I just received my first pocket sized fixed blade for heavy duty tasks (that I wouldn’t trust a folding knife for). I found this video very insightful for the use case of a proper length and tie of a lanyard. So of course I made one for fixie. Thanks.

@@CuttingBoardRx I went with an Axial Alpine V2. I honestly didn’t spend a lot of time researching (I was influenced 😂); but it checks most of the boxes I wanted in a small pocketable fixed blade.

@@the4thpower3 never heard but looking at the website it seems to be a nice knife. Pricy, for sure… I would have picked the tanto version with poison-green magnetic overlay! Much a I oppose to any magnets on a folder, having one on a fixed blade kinda makes sense for “survival” situations…
@the4thpower3
@the4thpower3 8 күн бұрын
@@CuttingBoardRx I also picked a tanto (I feel it’s a very versatile blade shape, especially how this one is designed) but with the black dunes CF inlays. I honestly feel like it’s under priced. Full tang Magnacut with thick titanium scales and magnetic carbon fiber inlays, great little kydex sheath with a small ulticlip - made in USA. I have Chinese produced folding knives with similar materials that are twice that price. Benchmade Mini Bushcrafter in S30V and G10 for $350?! I think the Axial Alpine is fairly priced at $250 (ok $279 but I got mine on 4th of July sale). To make it fair (in comparing materials) they have a black g10 scale version for only $189. But I guess we all know Benchmades are waaaay overpriced.

@the4thpower3 I recently reviewed a Boker Vigtig vs. Wild (weird name but, hey) made in Zolingen Germany in MagnaCut (!) for $165 (!!!) I plain out in love with that one! And it is even heat treated to the proper hardness for the “wild”. Not to mention a survival compartment in the handle… kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIO7YXSoo52kf8ksi=525U3pqtOCtxRAjJ

I have a lanyard on my Leatherman Arc. It gives me something to grab onto to help get the tool out of the sheath when I'm not looking at it. I can imagine it helps with the same function on EDC pocket clipped knives, although I don't currently use one. I really appreciate your site. thanks.

I dislike most deep carry clips because it makes it more difficult for me to get the knife out of my pocket. I have also found that many of the knives with deep carry clips don't have lanyard holes. I wish they did because on those that do I put a lanyard on. Thank you for this video. It was interesting.

For me all my knives have the deep carry pocket clip even my Cold Steel knives. Usually I have three MXG clips on hand , once I had to make the hole bigger. Pulling the knife out of my front pocket. I put my hand open straight out ,my thumb slips into my pocket in front of the blade, my fingers straight out I wrap them on the very bottom of the knife, start curling your fingers which starts raising the knife straight up once it's high enough wrap your pinky finger arond the base of the knife , raising a little more so to clear the pocket. Practicing this way till it becomes second nature. I never liked the pinch grip way . Also sticking your thumb in your pocket looks natural plus the palm of your hand covers the knife totally and is proper position to pop it out into the hand , no one could see it being deployed. 😊

I unsubscribed from reviewers who trash companies that put lanyard attachments. It’s ignorant for them to do that. Then turn around and complain about holes for left handed clips. They don’t have to use them yet influence companies to omit them entirely
@CuttingBoardRx
@CuttingBoardRx 8 күн бұрын
@@tgonzalez1983 we all know who “they” is. Instead of unsubscribing, you could leave comments like “Cutting Board says…” or “I saw on CBRx channel that…” especially when “they” does the half-assed spine tap test. “They” banned me from commenting on “their” channel and that’s part of the reason I started mine. Don’t you love the irony? 🤣
