That would make a lovely short wedding dress. I have been dressmaking on and off since 1973 but you have shown me quicker and better ways of doing things. I always use purchased patterns, never had the courage to make my own. I use a 12 year old basic Janome sewing machine; it does buttonholes but nothing fancy, adequate for my needs.

Margaret Stephens Maybe you should start a KZbin channel with some of your projects. I'd love to see it from some other people too, just to see how different age groups, and just different people in general interpret the same idea. I'm not sure why but it's interesting to my tiny 13 year old mind.

I am looking at making a few of these dresses, and was wondering on average how much material would you be using for one of these dresses? I would be making full length dresses. I also wanted to check what is the desired fabric. I was thinking chiffon, would that work?

This dress is gorgeous! You're skill is amazing. (This isn't to do with this dress) When I look for historically accurate gowns they all turn out tacky and inaccurate, but yours are simply amazing! I would love to make a 1920s inspired ball gown for my ball next year, and I was wondering if you had thought of making one so that I could have an idea of what to do! It would be nice to have a gown that no one else has so I don't turn up and someone has the same one as me haha. And again, you are very talented and I am absolutely loving your channel :D
@AngelaCostumery9 жыл бұрын
Elysia Burns Thank you! I'm not a huge fan of fashion from the late 1800s and early 1900s and don't have any plans right now to make things from that period. But I have made ball gowns, and have write ups on my blog which you might find useful. Good luck with your dress - I hope it turns out wonderfully!!
@elysiaburns9 жыл бұрын
Angela Clayton that's OK. I was never really into that fashion either. I'm more 1500s-1800s :)
@knoele9 жыл бұрын
It turned out so pretty! How did you attach the skirt to the bodice? Or did you leave it seperate?
@AngelaCostumery9 жыл бұрын
knoele I left them separate to make it easier to get into. I have to turn the bodice to the front to lace it, then turn it around to tighten it and zip it up, which is harder to do when it's attached to a skirt. But the skirt waistband could easily be whip stitched to the bodice lining and it would look exactly the same.
