Hello, Bitty Penny! I hope you are having a fabulous time with your crafty friends. I just finished watching the replay. I had to laugh when you said you wished we all could go with you to the crafty store in Austin. I think there wouldn't be a crafty store after we all were done. The shelves would be bare for sure.😅 Thanks for sharing the idea of simply putting a piece of cardstock into the envelope to make it a bit more sturdy. Great idea. Your journal is beautiful with all those pretty 12x12 and digital papers. Love all the colors together. TFS❤

Bitty Penny, this is such a fun journal!! The Boho pages are awesome. I need to try this method of doing a cover. For some reason I am petrified of doing journal covers, fearing that they will not be strong enough. Have so many journals awaiting covers!! Love Jleeloo. Looking forward to checking out the other Etsy shops!, Btw I just realized the other day that it was the Dallas hockey team that our Edmonton Oilers knocked out of the playoffs. Sorry not sorry. There are so many ways to build them and I love a soft cover myself. I tend make them for myself to use more often than hardcovers. I am glad you’re inspired to give these a try. 🌈📄✂️😂💕🙌

What a neat process. You can tell you've made several journals before as Debbie's journal came together so quickly! Those girls and ladies are so FUNN. I am loving those printed papers you used too. I'll have to check those out. If you or anyone else is ever in the Colorado Springs (or Fort Collins) area, we have a crafty resale store called Who Gives a Scrap. It's a crap shoot about what will be there, but a neat experience.

The creative reuse store in Kansas City (Scraps KC) is awesome. I will never have to buy paper clips again. They even had tons of really small ones. Sewing patterns 10 cents, fat quarters $5 (Joann’s is $10), Hubby got marbles - he could pick all he wanted to fill a quart size baggie $5. In our area the profits help the homeless, also they can come in and help sort, get a good meal, be out of the cold (in the winter). Highly recommend. I also take my “extras” and no longer needed supplies with me to contribute.

I love your idea of stenciling backside of non double sided paper. Just 2 days ago I went to JoAnns to find that Park Lane map paper. They didn’t have it 😔 All their paper pads were 50% off. I’ve been taught not to buy 12x12 paper pads anymore because images are too big. So I didn’t buy any. Now you’re making me want to go back because I can use for journals!! I did buy one of their 6x6 summer pads because smaller image and 70% off ($2).

Oh bummmer, check for the map paper in their online store. I saw it there recently when I was looking it up for someone else. You might also check thrift stores for old maps or map books. I never buy 6x6 anymore. I only buy 6x8 or larger so that I can use them for journals, cards, and other projects. 😂🌈📄✂️💕

Our Savers in my area has outrageous prices! I had to ask them to lower cost of a craft box because it was more expensive than Michael’s!

Wow. Yeah, they get everything for free. I think they should be trying to pass on things as affordable as they can for people during the inflation recession. We still have a few good ones in our area. They are the thrift stores associated with non profits. Which I feel better supporting anyways. 😂🌈📄✂️💕

@@BittyPenny i should look into non-profits. We have a lot of thrift stores here. Yes, I agree Savers should be ashamed of themselves. One employee refused to tell me which colored days are on which days as she was looking at the backside of her name tag which had the whole month colored days printed. I figure they don’t want my business 🤷🏻‍♀️

Bitty Penny what kit do you recommend for journal binding for a beginner? I don’t own an awl.

Hi Shay, I recommend the dark colored awl. It’s the dark widen handle one, not the light wooden ones. They sell inexpensive kits on Amazon and they work great. I have had the same one for years. 🌈📄✂️💕😂
