My 9 year old and I sat and watched this twice today...he's a huge chess fan and keeps kicking my butt. Loved your final product, and your videos are getting really good! Not saying they were not before, but they really have a great polish to them. Appreciate you sharing your talents.

AWESOME job Jay you knocked this out of the park. I like how you have the one miter still attached to the board so when closed all four miter come seamlessly together.

For real watching you go from all power tools and almost exclusively working with pine it has been awesome seeing you transition to include hardwoods and hand tools. Keep it up.

WOW. What an awesome piece of work Jay. When you re sawed the top checkered piece and when you slid the lid on, towards the end.......I caught myself sitting in front of the monitor with my jaw dropped and my mouth half open. Great video....as always

That is so cool, and very well executed too! I especially like the idea of using the chequerboard as a thin veneer on regular plywood as then there are very minimal movement due to humidity changes to contend with! And the finished article looks very nice indeed! Well done Jay!

Jay, Fantastic music choice and editing! I love you going back to your old style of syncing the music to the cuts in the video. Obviously not every video should be done this way, but I love seeing it from time to time. The project came out beautifully! It makes me want to get my shop up and running so I can make the chess board I keep picturing in my head. All in all one of my favorite videos you've done. Thank you for the time and effort!
