Hey Joe---- another great video that really touches me personally. Back in the 1970s I ordered a Gallagher G71 Special from J. W. Gallagher himself. I wrote Mr. Gallagher a letter asking for models and prices. He replied with a hand-typed personal letter from Wartrace, which I still have. I ordered my guitar and received it about six months later. I still have it today, and it is a truly magnificent and wonderful instrument. It has a very special bright, warm, exceptional tone that stands on its own. Mr. Gallagher really knew how to build guitars, and mine is living testimony.

Great Joe. As if I don't have enough guitars. Now I have to get a Gallagher. I love guitars and small town American craftsmanship. Small businesses like your music shop are pure Americana. Great video Mr Joe 👍🏻😎

David... thanks for watching and again thanks for your supporting our videos. I too like the idea of these type of craftsmen in small shops putting months of hand labor into one instrument. The guitars I’ve seen and played they have made are ridiculously cool.Honestly I truly think they’re better than the older models. Best, Joe

You didn't ask about the 'secret glue' :-( I'm a 'hands on' guy who knows next to nothing about making string instruments but I love seeing craftsmen turning raw material into works of art. The best part about these art pieces is they can be used by other artists as a tool for a different art. Beautiful tools to make beautiful music. IT'S ALL GOOD!

Awesome video Joe! Thanks for the tour. Richard Hoover gave me a tour of Santa Cruz Guitars a few years ago. The work these smaller shops produce is incredible! He had just finished an instrument where the top was 8000 year old oak from a Czechoslovakian salt pit,and the back and sides were 3000 year old Sitka spruce found in the Alaskan permafrost. It rang like a bell for days! He would not tell us what the commissioned cost was , only to say it was well into 6 figures! I’m just glad I could afford a lower tier Martin.lol Keep up these excellent videos!👍

You once said, and I am paraphrasing, 'I'd like to encourage young people to pick up instruments instead of video games.' This statement, for me, elevates that idea even further with this interview. And as always, well done. Thanks, Joe.

Off Topic : 'A day in the life of a Producer' I'll bet that a lot of us have vague ideas and understandings of what a producer does, but it would be nice to listen to two or three of them sit down and talk about the nuts and bolts of what they actually might do over the course of days, months, years as relates to 'Producing' an artist/session/album etc...

That was awesome Joe! As a woodworker, I have made a few electric, Bass & Acoustic guitars. By far, the Acoustic was the most difficult build. The Gallagher guitars look & sound really great. If I could play better, I would definitely look into buying one. Hope that all is well... 👍👍🎸🎸😉😉

Nitro v Poly Sure, poly is durable, but Joe replies: "So is steel." Thanks Joe for the quick wit and an interesting episode. Gallagher looks beautiful and I liked the snappy tone of that smaller concert guitar ("song writer's guitar" you called it.)

Thank you sir for this interesting and fascinating Gallagher factory tour and the conversation with David. Makes me happy and proud to see this kind of handiwork being carried on and and producing such fine instruments. I am overjoyed and blessed to have just recently become a Gallagher owner. The guitar is a beautiful specimen and sings a wonderful song. Thanks for producing such very interesting content on your channel. 🙏👍🇺🇲

The old world school is a lost art! Getting the right wood the challenge! And then making guitar flawless with quality ! My question is to the Doc? Or challenge to Gallagher guitars how to make a great base dreadnaught that's affordable, not cheap! Sound, playability work horse! The marketing of instrument that plays, sounds, quality workmanship with a profit and musician can afford it and then showcase of both maker and Artist! The Doc will make this work for the love of the guitar and musician behind it!

Thanks for another great vid Joe! I saw a few Gallagher guitars, in my time. They always sounded great. Of course we all know it's not the name on the headstock that makes a guitar great. Love to see guitars being built, repaired, etc. I hope the brand hits big. One of my favorite guitarist, Bobby Cochran, formerly of Steppenwolf (was their 5th lead guitarist, Slow Flux, & 2 following LPs),& Eddie Cochran great nephew, BTW, plays a brand built by a luthier in Nashville, it's been several years since I've talked to him, so I don't remember the builder. It would be nice to hear about some of the custom builders in your area, as well.(I'm not talking about the guys who build Strats, Teles, LP, 335, Martin, etc, type guitars & put their name on the head stock. Nothing wrong that IMO), but some true custom builders. Lol I just thought about the "catalogue" I had gotten from Fender, about Benadetto Guitars. Granted they were beautiful. My late wife asked how much they were...i was shocked when I saw the sticker prices. I said "Here's one for 35 grand." She said " For 35 grand it better have a bath & a half". We both broke up, laughing. Any way, thanks again Joe.
