The greatly delayed onset indicates an active metabolite being responsible for most of the effects. Allyl groups are metabolized along a couple pathways, but the predominant one being epoxidation of the double bond, followed by hydrolysis to the corresponding diol. His ECG shows a MASSIVE spike up; that spike up is called the R wave, it represents the positive electrical movement (at least in regards to lead 2) going down towards the positive electrode of the ECG. in his situation, it seems that after the electricity goes down his "bundle of his" (google it for an illustration) it really ramps up and makes his ventricles squeeze stronger. I bet his blood pressure went a little higher too. careful gamers XD

18:00 As someone who has consumed various different doses of "substances". Higher doses of things tend to take longer to peak, I beleive this is simply due to your body's ability to process the material. For example, when consumed THC is processed in the liver, it breaks down into 11-OH-THC which is actually what makes you feel high. Your body can only process so much THC a minute/hour, so if you consume a TON it simply takes longer to peak and lasts longer. LSD doesn’t even get its psychedelic effects from the serotonin receptor, its from the dopaminergic D2 receptor. And LSD has high affinity for serotonin receptors. What youre speaking to is called affinity, its not because they can’t leave the receptor due to shape, the molecules form bonds with the receptor, but just because a molecule fits doesn’t mean it’ll have a physiological effect. The molecule has to have a specific chemistry that allows it to interact with the protein in a way that it results in a physiological response. Your theory would be plausible, if these molecules weren’t non-selective agonists. They bind to at least 10 different receptor families, not just individual receptors, but whole family’s from SERTs, DATs, and so many others. And the affinities for all of these receptors differ.

Quite apart from the scales mixup, it's a mistake to go straight to the full expected dose. The king of the self-experimenters is Alexander Shulgin - learn from him. I recall reading either in the intro to Pihkal or Tihkal or in an interview, he always started with the tiniest dose, like a tenth or a hundredth of the expected active dose, and titrate upwards from there on subsequent bioassays. This helps to guard against (a) the active dose turning out to be way lower than expected, (b) errors in synthesis or measurement, (c) unexpected side-effects or allergic reactions from the compound itself or any remaining byproducts. Chugging the whole bottle like you did was reckless in the extreme. I'm glad you lived to tell the tale.

Your non-improved results do not surprise me. Even with caffeine, its main effect is on the human perception of tiredness and focus. It's actual ability to improve performance is quite small and shows mixed results on an individual level, depending on the task. So it may help you get through your day or let you do more stuff since you feel more focused, but it's not going to make you superhuman. Unsurprising that dmax works the same way. I've taken 1.6g of caffeine before (over a couple hours) and I can relate to some of your symptoms. I had lethargy, shakiness, anxiety, some feelings of focus (largely overwhelmed by feeling like shit), but also my heart felt like it was strained to the maximum and I was experiencing palpitations. I still felt like shit 8-10 hours later and my heart still felt strained, but if I recall correctly I actually fell asleep pretty quickly because of how exhausted I was. I don't know how at risk I was of actual health issues but it was generally a pretty good wakeup call to not fuck around and find out. Glad you're okay.

@bytefu but that isn't solely a capitalist thing. I am from germany and get ADHD medication as well. In my case Elvanse/Vyvanse or whatever it is called elsewhere. Its lisdexamphetamine, 30mg for me. I pay about 5 euros per pack of 30. I could get the max dosage of 70mg for the same price. But painstakingly measuring half of each cap for about 2.5 euros (around 2.75 usd) saving really isn't worth it for that... Noone should pay 10% of their income when they need medication. I know how important ADHD medication can be. Lisdexamfetamine for the first time allowed me to go outside in public and just be myself without overthinking everything which causes me to panic. That would even be worth 20 euros for me per month. But rn per year its about 60-65. I could get even that completly without the 5 euro cost too, if i did the paperwork at the social healthcare insurance. (which isnt a lot at all, i did that for many years and got all meds without the 5 euro minimum self pay) In the US however, this isn't capitalism, this is terrible greed and really sad. Capitalism can work in other ways, such as it does with meds here. The meds still are getting paid for of course. Just not by the one who needs it. I hope that one day things change and you wont have to pay for them that much anymore!
