I recently purchased a used yet premium dart board from a local thrift shop and thought about making a cabinet and wow, you beat me to it! Nice build and I would love to have butterfly doors on mine and contrasting wood plugs would be a beautiful focal point. Great channel, thank you!

I would highly recommend using an MFT top. It can allow you to cut perfect right angles on sheet goods.

Great first part of the job. Thanks for sharing some new "tricks". They are very helpful. Lidl offers from time to time plug cutters. They are metric. (at least on the continent, you'd better check if also in England)

Look brilliant ,best tip i was ever given about a track saw was to always support the offcut piece, so theres little chance of it breaking before the cut has finished and then the offcut can be used again without any dents etc

just a trick for the track saw, put some old buttons under the peace u are cutting so it holds both off cut and your main peace in place and u won't get a split on the edge.

brilliant as per usual Keith...its a shame that such a quality piece will look like it has woodworm in 6 months. I was wondering, could you have applied some of the edge banding to a sacrificial piece of wood and then used the plug cutter to match up the plugs?
@RagnBoneBrown5 жыл бұрын
I don’t understand ? Why would it look like it will have woodworm? Yeah that’s a good idea about the edge banding I can’t see why it wouldn’t work

The cabinet looks good, like the shellac finish. Dartboards used to come with a simple bracket that fixed to the wall. The board would have a screw in the centre and simply hang. The board could then be rotated around its centre. How do you find the Makita tracksaw works with the Evolution track?

The minimum plunge depth is 12mm and the mdf for the door was only 13mm so I was a bit worried it might go all the way through! I am digging it though definitely glad I bought it. Thanks 👍

After I have edited my project videos, if they’re over 20 minutes in length I split them in to two parts because longer videos do not perform well for me on KZbin. I’ve always done that. Hope you stay tuned for part 2.

How are those folding saw horses holding out?
@RagnBoneBrown5 жыл бұрын
They’re ok considering they’ve been outside in all weather since I’ve had them. They’re not very sturdy but they’re fine
@webchimp5 жыл бұрын
I've been tempted by them (or similar) as I don't have much storage space in my flat and if I want to do any woodwork I've got to hump everything down to the car park out back. I've an old slightly wobbly workmate that just ends up being moved from here to there getting in the way.

I know this video is a year old. Not sure if you'll see this but did you find you got good enough cuts with a circular saw and straight edge? I'm not a professional and have wondered about getting a track saw vs straight edge and circular saw

A track saw is really nice to have, but I always got good results with circular saw and straight edge and the right blade for the job
