Thank you this was very informative! If I can offer some criticism: there's a large difference in volume between when you're speaking and the music when you're not speaking. I have to turn my volume up to hear you and lower my volume back down because the music is so loud. But otherwise, I can't wait to try this out tomorrow!

just letting you know, your music is way too loud compared to your vocal audio. I had to turn my speakers all the way up to hear you and then when the music panned in it was wayyyyyy too loud. This is good information though, I just couldn't listen to the audio of the video after 3:27.

Someone's already let me know this a month ago :) Thank you for the feedback though! I have no training in making and editing videos, I just taught myself during first lockdown as I couldn't work!

Do not put plastic tapes, as they are harmful. The tape retains water along the wooden part, and the frame, instead of drying, is constantly wet. This is how the wooden frame rots. Instead of plastic strips, the wooden frame should be varnished with water-resistant varnish.

Thank you! And net fabric works brilliantly. If you spray it with hairspray before use it can stop it sticking so much.

can you use a cheesecloth, also thank you the video was very helpful
@DarnItWorkshops
@DarnItWorkshops 3 жыл бұрын
I've tried it in the past and because of the fibres and close weave of cheesecloth it can work but gets stuck a lot! If you want to give it a go I'd recommend spraying it with hairspray between every use- and every so often you may have to leave the paper on the deckle until 100% dry then peel it off. And thank you!

I haven't made paper yet, but I've been watching a lot of videos because I want to soon and perhaps it's a moisture issue? In the videos I've seen, when they use a sponge or something like that to absorb some of the water (by lightly dabbing along the surface of the paper and getting out excess water) it comes out pretty easily! They will then just flip it over and lightly tap on the screen. Of course, you need a barrier between your sponge and the paper pulp so you're not just picking up and moving the pulp around, so maybe if you put down a hand towel and then sponge it, then flip it over and try to tap it off onto the hand towel it would work? Idk if that makes sense 😅 but I hope something in my rambling was helpful! Edit: I just made paper with my students this week and getting rid of moisture is definitely key!! I used a thin towel to lay over the wet pulp and then sponged away some of the water, flipped it over and did the same thing through the window screen (that's what I used for the netting 😊) and it came off super easily! A couple of times I had to tap it lightly to get the edges off but that was it!!

Hiya, made this video three years ago. I did it on a different laptop, when I had free time due to lockdown to test out things. I had to teach myself to make and edit videos. So it'd be very hard to go back and change it, but thanks for the suggestion. I'm sure you'll be able to see in other comment that I've addressed this before. Believe me- I wish I hadn't put it on, with 32 k views I would've actually made money off this without audio. Have a good day!
