Excellent idea. Our Escapade aircraft ( UK .... it is the Highlander in the States) also has convex doors and gull opening. Gas struts at present.

Clever idea... may desire to cover with a fabric of sorts, to prevent any folks with longer hair, from getting snagged in the spring.. just a thought... clever though!!

Thank you for this posting this option. It looks much better than the gas spring or suction cup. Did you have issues with the shoulder harness interfering with the spring when the door is closed or is there enough clearance?
