Lacking the slats did not mean the original builder were not interested in STOL, I noticed they did added the rows of VGs. The lack of slats will likely get the lane about 5 MPH faster. The main purpose of the slats are to grow hair on the pilot's chest. But then , choosing a 2200 sealed its fate as to performance, with 15 HP less and the wrong RPM. I never heard of ZD before and have to check them out, my choice for the 750 I am building was always Aero Momentum, with 17 more HP and a reduction box. I live less than 100 miles south of the Zenith factory in YYZ. Rotax is too expensive for me, and Edge is worse, for I have to buy a Rotax first (or they do) and then add the modification cost. One problem with ZD is the carburator, I thought that is a relic of last century and I never buy a Rotax with the carbs. I am aware Edge have an injection modification kits for Rotax.

No offense intended Matthew or Bryan. I like your channels and I share the frustration with the cost of a new Rotax 912. I need sometime to think this through but my concern about a Chinese Rotax 912 clone is: 1. Is it legal. 2. Is it ethical. 3. Is it safe/reliable. Like I said, I don't know enough right now to express an opinion on all three counts.
