You might be able to get a really cool lit up eye effect if you placed some LEDs inside the eye behind that first plywood layer. Wouldn't be able to fix it if you resin'ed it in, but with LED life being as long as it is might not really be a concern. Looks fantastic as is though!

That is beautiful. I am a little curious about that white rotocast? Does it end up solid or is it hollow on the inside from all that turning around and around? Also will it not cure if you don't keep it rotating? - Heidi
@JimsonMakes6 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much Heidi. It is partly hollow. The rotocast resin can be used as an ordinary casting resin and will still set, it doesn’t need to be turned. Cheers, Jim

Hi Jim, It's me again. I have one question. I couldn't find pure gold leaf in here. What can I use instead of pure gold leaf? Do you have any suggestion?
@JimsonMakes6 жыл бұрын
Hi, there are some imitation gold leaf and what they call gold leaf on base which should work well. I was given most of my gold leaf but I did buy some off eBay. There was quite a lot of listings on eBay for gold leaf at a very good price. Antique restorers and picture framers also use it and may stock it. Cheers Jim

Thank you so much for your suggestion. I'm waiting for your new project. Kind regards.

@JimsonMakes6 жыл бұрын
Quite possibly but I won’t be selling it. Cheers, Jim
@Josef_R6 жыл бұрын
Ah, I figured since you said you'd be making more, that's what they were for. So no figure? I loved the front of it, but for some reason, the white side didn't seem right to me. I'd love to have just a half mold of the front side.
@JimsonMakes6 жыл бұрын
Yes it would have been better with black sides or as you say a half sphere. Ive got a couple of other different eye and sphere projects coming up. Just for fun really, the resin is too expensive to make it a profitable proposition. Luckily I have been given several different resins to try, which makes it easier to experiment, mistakes can be expensive. Cheers, Jim
@Josef_R6 жыл бұрын
Jim Overton - Jimson's Stuff Yeah, I think a black back half would have been better, but I get that you were experimenting with the veins. Maybe even clear for the veins? It's a shame how much those resins cost. Not to mention the pot just to get going.
