Another awesome DIY tool. I've been binge watching your videos, since subscribing, while on my 2 week long vacation and have enjoyed your DIY builds, specially from scratch. When curiosity got the better of me about your mill's knee table. Would you happen to have videos of this part of your mill, if not is it possible to go over how, exactly it was built? I have a crappy Smithy Midas 1220 XL 3 in 1 lathe, mill, drill, that was gifted to me, out of desperation, I accepted it. I personally call this my POS SUX 2000 machine because it is and it does. it has one motor that runs both the lathe and mill/drill via a pull clutch on the back of the lathe to switch from lathe to mill head. Though the lathe runs pretty good and runs precise the mill head is on a round column with a giant threaded collar for height, and a tightening boss that doesn't keep the head stiff. well, that's why I want to know more of your knee mill, so I may adapt the same design for the mill head, removing the mill head from the lathe and making a stand alone knee mill style milling machine. Can you help? Egy másik fantasztikus barkácseszköz. Szívesen nézem a videóidat, amióta feliratkoztam, 2 hetes szabadságom alatt, és élveztem a barkácsépítéseidet, különösen a semmiből. Amikor úrrá lett rajtam a kíváncsiság a malom térdasztalával kapcsolatban.

Ok, as soon as I have time I will make a more detailed video about my milling machine, as several people were already interested and unfortunately I did not make a video about making it.

Good evening, your cross point is offset, on a large drill bit and on a pillar drill it will be fine but not on a small drill bit and on a hand drill.
@kvechannel3 ай бұрын
Yes, there is a small offset in it that has to be compensated with the adjustment screw, for now it is good for me. I use on the larger drills because they are expensive and it is more difficult to grind precise angles by hand. But I plan to replace this drill bit clamp with a more accurate one maybe with one sided v shape with no teeths.

Yes, and the original grinders like Kaindl cost about 2K euros or more just for grinding drill bits 😀 and that's for a reason. If the angles are perfect, the edge of the drill will last much longer and it is easier to sharpen. My 18 mm drill, which is also in the test, has never cut better than it does now.
