Hi Wayne, with repairs when needed, the moulds will last indefinitely

You say that stitched layered fabrics will separate with polyester resin under stress but many lamination schedules in boat construction use layered fabrics, can you elaborate and quantify?

Hello ive got my former made out of timber for a project im doing and will soon be ready to coat it in duratec I was just wondering what can I use to put a radius on the 90 degree corners?do I need to spray it first then use the plasticine? Also if I was to purchase the duratec from you would you be able to thin it down for me?

if using mdf, can i seal it with polyester than prime it with primer?

You can. You can seal the MDF with a sand and sealer varnish such as shellac or most brands of PU varnish. Then seal it with a resin based high build primer such as durabuild surface primer. avoid using car primers as they tend to melt or wrinkle.

@EastCoastFiberglass what about air bubbles in the gel coat? Just mixing with a stick and brushing, will it not create air bubbles like with resin ?

It's quite a thick liquid so you don't tend to get air bubbles

Don't sand with your fingers in the same direction all the time otherwise you'll get tramlines.... Mix your directions with sideways motion as well.

How harmful is it to human health Wax, PVA, Gelcoat and polyester resin, and is there any problem in working without protective mask ever.

I been building fibreglass swimming pools since 1998 with a chopper gun and gel coat guns and polyester and vinylester resins and i have never worn a mask.. ever, or glasses or gloves or suits? Just tape up my boots and go.😀

I have done some small work without protective masks and I felt anxious. According to the data these materials are toxic and it is good to use protective masks.

@@artongashi6206 i have actually quit 6 different pool factorys because of new mandates for masks. Your body will get used to it after a couple of days i work with guys in there 60s and there fitter than the young guys that come through
