Just made one of these money clip wallets. The clip wants to slide out when opening up the clip. The clip was tight going in, but now wants to come out when you open it. It's not loose enough to fall out, when opening the clip each time and it wants to pull out a little could be a pain for the user. I have never carried a money clip wallet, so maybe that's just the way they are? Any tips to get this clip in there tighter?

Aaron, did you pouch a bigger hole on the sides of the interior pocket where the money clip goes through so you could sew 1/8” seam allowance? I was just curious because the size of the hole on the template I used a 5/32” pouch to fit the template hole and I’m finding with an 1/8” seam allowance the stitch line is going below the curve for the money clip insert. I’m afraid when I used my pricking iron the holes are going to be to close to the edge. Can I ask what seam allowance you used for your wallet? Thanks for your help

Punch it as large as you need to make it easy on yourself :)

What kind of leather gauge do you use.

Going to create the same piece just wondering can you squeeze an extra card in between each pocket?
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
Yes you can
@awildeep4 жыл бұрын
@@makersleathersupply1220 If you build the type 1 using the type 2 outside, you can probably get 3 cards per side if you skive the divider tongues down. It's actually what I intend to try and do for my next project. I may also put one exterior pocket on, but I have not decided yet.

How do you finish the back of leather if you don’t use a liner
@makersleathersupply12206 жыл бұрын
If not lining it, best you can do is lightly dampen it and rub it with a glycerin saddle soap bar.

I like that you do what you do. But I cant see anything you are doing because the leather is dark and the camera is to far away from your leather.

Question: I have been removing the paper backing off your templates. Is that the wrong thing to do?
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
Not at all... makes it so you can avoid imperfections in the leather and place them better.
@sfkid575 жыл бұрын
the front pocket money clipper you don't sew across the money clip but on the other inside pockets you sew across, why?
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
Just 2 different ways to make it. The one where the clip is sewn in ends up being larger.
