What a wonderful video - information aplenty, with explanations and methods of avoiding pitfalls most leatherworkers have hit on their way here. There are numerous videos showing master craftsmen producing amazing goods, but so far yours has been by far the most informative for me. Thanks for the length of the videos...it's just more time to give more information out..and more time for us hobbyists to soak it in and learn on a "start-to-finish" basis. Many many thanks; your work is amazing. Subscribed and hit the dinger :)

Can you go into detail about your burnishing process? Another video idea would be how to do pattern making. Thanks so much for all the work you do!

Amazing! I truly appreciated the length on both parts. Much more realistic. You’re definitely a true artisan!

What product are you using on your edges, specifically the container and applicator? Thanks and really appreciate the video.

Loved watching this video! So intriguing! Do you actually sell this finished product by chance? Love the wallet!

Love the template!!! I would like to suggest that a CD/DVD be included (or be available to order) with the more complicated projects. I don't have access to the internet in my work area and, at my age (71), it's difficult to remember the tips you provide. I know this would increase the cost of the template but it might be worth it.

I am new to leather work as a hobby, but your videos have been a great learning tool! I look forward to future projects. I had a question about leather choices. Specifically belts. When and how do you decide what weight leather to use while making projects like the lady’s clutch or on a belt I’ve seen the stiffener/ backing, but to finish the back side of a belt. Even belts with buck stitching. Thanks again!
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, with belts ut is simple. Decide how thick you want the total belt and use any combination of leather that will add up to that. Most belts are between 10 and 14 oz total depending their intended use.

Do you ever trim the metal off the line 24 snaps with setting on thin leather to prevent that drifting you sometimes get when setting those. I use a Dremel with a cut off wheel to cut a small 1/8" off the end. Just what I do.
@makersleathersupply12206 жыл бұрын
I've done it before. Probably should have this time too.

Great Project. I am looking forward to making this....however do have one question. What size pricking irons are you using?
@makersleathersupply12206 жыл бұрын
On this one I used 6spi. Normally I use 8

When you hand sew the outside edge do you use one long piece of thread or do you use shorter pieces? I don’t like fighting 6 ft of thread but I don’t like seeing multiple start/stop points either. Great videos and templates btw.
@makersleathersupply12205 жыл бұрын
I usually divide it in 2 pieces. I also do not like the splice but it takes a long time to pull all that thread through.

Aaron...Wowza! I cannot WAIT to make this. I bought my templet at Prescott...I just need to get a few more things. How can I get the design that you did on there? I'll trade you toothbrushes for it...LOL. ( I work in Dental).

Wow, very nice, i always learn a lot between you and Don G, question, are the stylus an clear square available? An are the patterns availabe without buying the mystery box. I like to do sheridan, is why i ask, thanks Daniel
@makersleathersupply12206 жыл бұрын
The pattern is available on our website. The clear square was something I made from scrap and it is not a regular product for us. The stylus was made by Clay Miller of Clay Miller Leather Tools.

Great videos, I’m getting mine Tuesday, I too can’t wait. Maybe I’ll do an unboxing video (LOL). Thanks for the glue brush tip, I need to do that for better control. Also, I love your clear L square ruler, do you recommend a particular one?
@makersleathersupply12206 жыл бұрын
I made this square out of some scrap we had leftover from another project. I know that design and art stores usually have good ones.
