I love the combo of the rustic pallet with the delicate inlay (the other way around probably would not work as well; crisp cleanly cut mahogany clock with a "rustic" inlay....:). I also measure things on the x-carve while its still cutting (5:26), that way if its not going to fit I can work on the files to get the "fix" cut ready and I can stop the machine before it spends 30 minutes cutting a hole that is too small. There is a small voice inside me that says "don't do this" but the machine is quite predictable once you watch its first pass. Awesome video as always.

I have watched your videos for about a year and with every video I am amazed at the effort you put into each production. How on earth do you find the time to edit so much footage? beautiful clock! I have a quick question for you or the masses....I have also glued pallet or old wood to plywood, but also read warning about doing it due to expansion...so is it ok to make a table top from pallet or reclaimed wood by gluing it to a plywood sheet? From what I have read it's a no-no.
@JackmanWorks7 жыл бұрын
+Bennett Ibey yeah you just need to be careful about grain direction. I've done a pallet clock similar to this a while ago with the pieces all vertical and that did warp. The pattern here was to look cool but also in theory to keep it from warping too bad, we'll see if that holds up. Tables are particularly troubling because they're so big so when they shrink and expand it adds up
@bennettibey94987 жыл бұрын
