Thank you! When I paint the actual fireplace that came with the game I plan to do something similar to what you did...unless I'm feeling brace enough to try to hand-paint a portrait....

That's come out very well. It's possibly worth degassing the silicone and resin in future to avoid the air bubbles. Thanks for sharing!

Yeah. I figured bubbles wouldn't be an issue because it was so small. But I think I also messed up by spraying a bunch of mold release inside before I added the resin. That's where I think a majority of the bubbles came from.

@@boardwithpaint that may have done it. I've not had much luck using mould release with silicone. Transparent resin can be a right pain in the arse for it. I often end up tapping the mould on the table lightly to get rid of them and pouring the resin in as slowly as I can. My daughter (10) and I have been playing the game and she's keen to have a go making one of these!

@@colonelbarker That's great! Let me know how that goes. Just please wear eye protection if you have to snip the top of the LED - it doesn't show up on the video, but tiny chips of broken glass went flying all over the room when I did that.

Thanks - I thought about doing something like that, but I was worried about covering too much of the clear resin and preventing light from coming through. I'd want to test that out before committing - maybe I'll try it sometime.

I hear ya. The original audio track had lots of my heavy breathing since I was so close to the camera, so part of the reason for the music is to mask that and hide the edits I had to make to get rid of it.
