Hi Jon! I recently came across your channel while researching the VT-1. Your chops are sweet! Have you considered switching out that graphite nut with an LSR roller nut? My American Deluxe came stock with the locking tuners and the LSR. Needless-to-say, consider the roller nut. My Strat plays like my Charvel with the FR original trem. Great videos mate! 🙏🔑✌️🇮🇱

I have the same Schecter Nick Johnston model and the one problem I've been having is that it's super easy to fret out on the treble side and my bridge pickup has very little sustain. I don't have tuning problems but I did lock down the trem to dive only because when it was floating the saddle screws were sticking out way too much and very uncomfortable. I want to upgrade the trem to a vega trem but it's way too expensive and the saddle screws still stick out alot. I think I'm going to upgrade to a Gotoh Wilkinson tremolo instead. Love your videos!
@JonIsJustTooLoud4 жыл бұрын
cool...as for the bridge pickup..you might want to raise the pickup a tad for a bit more output. ✌💙

Hi Jon, sorry for obvious question but which adaptors dif you use for the Vegatrem? Both the American and Asian adaptors seem to be too small for trem posts on my NJ Schecter. Great playing as always. Cheers 😃

Thanks.. I use the Asian. It might be small but you can add in wood fillers ✌🏻❤️

Hi Jon. Great music and content. I have a Schecter Route 66 (really similar to a NJ). When I've tried to put the Vegatrem - it comes with the american and asian adapters - none of them fits the holes of my two point tremolo in the guitar. Have you had the same issue? Thank you
@JonIsJustTooLoud2 жыл бұрын
Yes I did.. what I did was to just pick the best fit and just screw the mounting plate in. It should catch on somehow.. The other way is to use fillers so that you get a tighter fit✌️❤️
@Bairov Жыл бұрын
I just noticed this, too. I was hoping for a tighter fit. I wonder if I can get some custom adapters. I report here if I find them

Little update... I just took the measures and ask a mechanical turner to make the adapters to fit the holes on the guitar. Had to put two washers too to make the right height. Now it is perfect.

Wish they made a Polished Brass Vega Trem System, most of my 6 Screw Tremolo Systems are Brass and on my Les Pauls the Bridges and Stop Tails are Brass. Get better Sustain, and seems to improve the sound by not getting too bright by the Stamped Steel Tremolos seem to have.

I’ve done the same thing. I bought a Squier Telecaster for $130 back in the mid 90’s. I’ve probably got $650 to $750 tied up in it now but literally all that’s left of the original guitar is the body. It plays and sounds awesome.

Hi Jon , love your videos & your musicianship. I have just brought the vegatrem for my schecter Nick Johnston, also in orange , ….& am having a few problems: using the Asian screw adapters for the posts , they just drop in rather than fit into the the existing hole threads… but when the plate is screwed on it doesn’t fit totally straight on , meaning the whole system leans to right… have you experienced or heard any cases like this or any work around ? Best regards

@Jon is just TOO LouD!! You know what it seems the USA Schecter NJ uses Hipshot locking staggered tuners. Maybe they will fit a lil better?

Turns out they won't without drilling a new hole. The ratios universal plates really go a long way. Now, to figure out how to deal with the extreme angle of the stagger.

Hi Jonathan, great video! I also have a schecter NJ and having the same tuning issues. Not able to spend money on both a new trem and new tuners. What did you think improved the tuning stability more, upgrading the trem or the tuners?

Get a set of staggered locking tuners, get rid of the string tree. And file the width of the nut for each string if necessary. Take it to a luthier if you are not sure✌️❤️

Hi, I have a similar Nick Johnston model crafted in Indonesia and I’ve been attempting to install the Vegatrem on it. Unfortunately none of the threaded inserts provided to screw the bridge down to the body seems to fit my guitar. Which of the two provided inserts did you use on this installation process? Thanks a lot in advance!
