Gromit was originally meant to be a cat, but Nick Park changed him into a dog because it proved easier to model.

Im trying to find videos on how to make wallace and gromit from plastercine with the inside frames so they can be moved for animation. Ive never done stopmotion before but I remember when I was like 10 years old when I was given the wallace and gromit plastercine modeling kits that had a guide how to make them. I can still make them 30 years later and I would love to start making them again but properly. Its just hard to find the right plastercine used (I found the plastercine they used to use had closed down) and where I can find the parts for their eyes/nose/beaks etc. When I see the wireframe doll things, I have no clue how they'd make them out of plastercine moulding with the frame in the middle.

The fire was at their Bristol props warehouse. They lost years of work but the studio was okay. Must have been devastating for them.
