As a pokemon fan: Yes animal crossing has better though simpler environment textures. Legends is a step in the right direction for them but still janky for the environments. Happy they fixed the draw distance issues from previous games. Also sniping pokemon with the featherballs is more fun than it has any right being.

i started watching this video 3 hours ago but paused it to google the sea shanty you were singing so then i added it to my playlist and sat in my room listening to it for maybe 10 minutes and then while i was in spotify i saw a shared playlist i had with my friend which reminded me to send them a meme that i had meant to show them 2 weeks prior (but forgot woohoo) and then got a notification on discord so i chatted with my friends for a while and then googled flatfish (of which i am now an expert due to the well-spent 45 minutes reaserching them) and then because i saw the word "spine" i thought of hisoka from hunter x hunter for some reason so i went to netflix and watched several episodes (as well as the first 20 minutes of howls moving castle and the first scene of the episode stan by me in i am not okay with this) and then saw someone outside my window with blue hair and thought "omg ej has blue hair i should finish their video" and here i am :') ((edit: i don't think this adds up to 3 hours but ive lost all concept of time and im gay and therefore cannot do the math

Hi EJ!! Your videos give me so much inspiration to build. I love your boat house for Limberg!! I think this island is one of my favorites that I’ve seen you build. Honestly I haven’t seen many people talk about it, but I do feel like Pokémon Legends Arceus’s graphics are a bit disappointing. To me it just looks very low resolution compared to everything else, like it feels like a pretty Wii game?? I still want to definitely play the game though. It looks so much fun!! For the qotd, I don’t know if many people know about Hollow Knight, but it’s a really cute indie game about a ruined bug kingdom. It’s very beautiful and masterfully done, and I feel like it was something I never knew that I enjoyed in my life until I knew about it.

HMMM. my thing that a lot of people are missing out on because they don't know about it is--the manga one piece. *not because of a lack of exposure*--it IS one of the best-selling manga in the world--but because they assume a lot of things about it. i'm putting the tldr here because under the cut is gonna be LONG. TLDR: please watch one piece until episode 50 or read it until chapter 100. please give the story and characters at least a chance--the designs are bad, but the story is about love and how love leads to revolution against all forms of oppression. if you're willing to read instead of watch, there are lots of places to do that online and you'll catch up SUPER fast, because it IS long--but, if you can read up to chapter 100 (or watch until episode 50), i promise you'll be hooked. it's about the love between friends conquering all, it's about love ALWAYS being enough in the end, and baby, it's about REVOLUTION. (really short trigger list at the bottom!) more fun stuff: - the queer-coded bad guys generally become allies to the crew in the end, and even though the trans rep they have isn't fantastic, there is a canon fact that changes that (TLDR: it's possible because of in-world magic to transition and pass 100% of the time--the people in the show who are visibly trans/queer WANT to be visibly trans/queer). - while there ARE characters now and then who are interested in people on the straw hat crew, there's no confirmed romances for any of the crew, and never will be, if the author's word can be trusted, so you can imagine whoever you want together and nothing in canon will go against that. - every character has a 'stupid' trait. all of them!! the whole crew is kind of overpowered (save for one exception i'll bring up later), and ALL of them have something that shatters their illusion of being perfect, and i love that about them. - i cannot say this enough--love is the whole core of one piece. it is VERY much a series that holds love for other people up over everything in the world. love saves lives in one piece. it won't bring people back from the dead, but it will scrape them just past the jaws of death, really often. one of the first things that happens in the entire show is that an up-and-coming pirate gambles his entire legacy on saving a child he grew attached to--just because he loves him. love for the other members of the crew is, quite literally, the biggest factor for EVERY character to become stronger. luffy, the main character, grows attached to people incredibly quickly, and that care for people saves kingdoms, whole islands, and literally entire races of people. - while there are moments of misogyny that are typical to anime (i mean, y'all have seen how the women are drawn, and that's a big part of what turns most people off the series), these are some of the most badass lady characters i've ever seen in anime? they have realistic trauma (that doesn't center on S.A.!!!), the one 'motherly' crew member has a reason to Be motherly, and not only can they hold their own, they're also some of the most dangerous members of the crew. - usopp's design is REALLY bad, i know. but if you can give this series some time, you'll see that he himself is not a racist character. in fact, he's one of the most incredible characters not just in one piece, but in media PERIOD, in my opinion. his character arc has made me cry because of how relatable he is, and his triumphs feel incredible because he's the everyman of the crew--he isn't insanely strong, he isn't superpowered. he's just a normal guy with a dream, and friends that support him all the way. he's just a regular dude, with regular abilities that anyone can have! - the current arc is literally about an entire country being freed from oppression????? it's bananas. the whole series is SUPER anti-government, too, and deals pretty seriously with the damage that governments cause to keep themselves above everyone else. the revolutionaries do what they do through violence and are not vilified, and their actions VISIBLY impact the quality of life of the people around them. there are a LOT of super revolutionary themes in this show, if you can handle watching ~150-200 episodes to get there, and it's worth every minute. - one of the male characters is super ripped, and is also topless like 99% of the time and also never shows interest in women at all, if that sweetens the pot. - while we hate ladies being fridged at ALL, the singular case of a non-parent/guardian backstory character dying is NOT a girlfriend or wife character, but a childhood friend, and it's included because it made an impact on the character, NOT because of manpain. her death was an accidental one, not caused by any of the characters and also not done to protect any of the characters. now. some warnings, because they're needed. - VIOLENCE, obviously. it's a series about pirates, and while it's almost all cartoony, there's a lot of violence, and the characters get hurt a lot. - there is character death in this show. most of the crew have no surviving parents, and the ones that do are usually estranged from them for one reason or another. if parental death due to illness is going to trigger you, one of the earliest arcs is going to mess you up real bad. - this show tackles parental abuse. it's implied to be pretty brutal. - human trafficking and slavery are plot points--i will say that they are plot points that are actively being resolved, but that's super triggering content. - while the main crew's ladies haven't been assaulted, S.A. IS the backstory of a trio of women in the show. it doesn't go into detail, but it is very VERY heavily implied. - as i touched on briefly with my point about usopp above, some of the designs are really racist. the 'intertube lips' design choice is made a lot. i'm not going to make excuses for the author, because he knows better, but as an explanation, he looks up to dragon ball's creator a lot and he ALSO used the intertube lips a lot. i promise that the characters of color are written well, their designs are just very bad. - as i also touched on above, there are some pretty transphobic character designs as well. that gets explained away in canon indirectly right after the designs are introduced, but that's not an excuse or any kind of explanation. - this is a series aimed primarily at teenage boys and young men, and that means that the women are s*xualized a lot. one of the main crew members is a 'pervy but lovable' character stereotype, and that's played up a lot. nami, the first woman on the crew, gets the 'awooga, a girl' treatment a lot, especially in earlier parts of the series. i don't think oda MEANS to be a misogynist in doing these things, but i did want to warn against it anyway.

the graphics for the trees etc in arceus definitely arent the best, youre not stupid dw and youre definitely valid to be disappointed !!! personally though i dont care too much as its not what pokemon is known for - don’t understand why people get so uppity about people saying the graphics are bad tho
