This island. 😍😍 I’ve loved your other islands but wow this one is just SO GOOD. Weirdest thing I can remember…my grandparents had a sandbox and my grandma and I were playing in it once. We were “making pies” and putting the sand into pie tins. I definitely thought that since they were pies, it would magically be tasty…and ate sand. Learned very quickly this wasn’t true. 😵💫

28:40 the weirdest thing i believed when i was little was not that cameras slowly developed colour and people developed computer animation, but that cameras had always existed and that the earth had gone through several phases. first was the "hand-drawn" phase, where everything existed as hand-drawn animation like in old disney movies like cinderella, next was the "3D" phase, where everything looked animated but 3D like in shrek, next was the black-and-white phase, where everything was realistic but black-and-white like in film noir, and the latest phase was colour, as everything is normally. the weirdest thing was in my kid brain i rationalised that through every single one of these phases, life had evolved from single cells, the dinosaurs had came and went, mammals and humans had evolved and human technology had developed, and then it would start all over again with the next phase. somehow i completely missed the fact that cameras are a human-made technology and did not in fact persist through several big bangs and millions of years of evolution, and that somehow all the movies we have today had actually survived millions of years from being filmed in these alternate earths.

Funniest thing I believed as a kid: a relative my mom hates got her name at a Christmas party (huge family so we drew names to give gifts) and got her one of those big tubs of Walmart flavored popcorn. I was reading the label and asked her what "gourmet" meant and really darkly she says, "in this case it means cheap." I spent the next several years of my life thinking that every time "gourmet" was on a label it meant cheap. This only got cleared up because years later my granny was watching that old TV show The Frugal Gourmet and I asked her what frugal meant... And she said "it means cheap!" Lmao

So when I went to Disney World, I thought I would get arrested for dressing up as a princess because I heard adults weren't allowed to be dressed as characters. Hey there! I absolutely LOVE your dense builds. I've been working on my island for the last two years, but I don't have a ton of cool objects to place like you do. My island is so conventional and boring. My probably silly question is: how do you get so many freaking awesome objects (and numbers of the same object) to use in these builds? Do you buy everything? I never have the bells to get more than a few cool objects a week. Now that I am playing Happy Home Designer, I am slowly getting a few new objects per week, but you have like, thousands of amazing objects in your inventory. How do you get them all??? Thanks in advance, and keep on building!
